"People let me paint a picture you know I aint a Christian, I aint a Muslim aint Jew I'm losing my religion...." - Talib Kweli

And so I pray like I'm a Pentecostal, Sufi, Buddhist, strict agnostic
Hoping one will hit its target
    Take another sip of hypnotic
And lay my head on the pillow and dream erotic scenes
Of killers spilling endless rounds and all of them shooting at me - Jean Grae

Alcoholic nigga, showin' 40's love like tennis - Planetary

Language I'm speakin' is ancient as Eden

Stick to the script, I'm spittin' the unholiest scripture
And y'all are just now goin' through your thug phase
While I blast like flash grenades in drug raids
Try to criticize me, you little rappin'-ass groupie
Y'all as corny as muthafuckas who clap at the movies
The Army of the Pharaohs, checks with six ceros
Try to walk in my shoes and pop your Nike Air soles
There's no mercy, so of course the haters

    Muthaphuckk Dre
    Muthaphuckk Snoop
    Muthaphuckk Death Row
Yo, and here comes my left blow
'cuz i'm the E-A-Z-Y-E and this is the season
to let the Real muthafuckin G's in, ya like a kid ya
found a poopie and now in your diaper, but tell me where the
fuck ya found an anorexic rappa,
talkin 'bout who ya gone squabble wit and who ya shoot
you're only 60 pounds when yer wet and wearin boots
(damn E, they tried to fade you on Dre Day)
But Dre Day only meant Eazy's pay day
all of a sudden Dr Dre is a G thang, but on his
old album covers he was a she thang
so Nigga please, Nigga please don't step to these
    muthafuckin' Real G's

    [Hook(x2)]
Stop him in his tracks, show him that i am ruthless
Yo Dre, what's up? *bang* Boy ya shoulda known by now

Everyday it's a new rappa, claimin to be dappa then
the Dresta, smoother then a bitch but portray the role of
gangster, ain't broke a law in yer life, yet every time you rap
you yap about the guns and knife, just take a good look
at the nigga, and you'll capture the fact, that the bastard is
simply just an actor, who mastered the bang and the slang
and the Mental, of Niggaz in Compton, wattz, and South Central
neva eva once have you ran with the turf, but yet in every verse you
claim you used to do the dirt, but tell me who's a witness
to your fuckin work, see ya neva had no business, so
save the drama jerk, Niggaz straight kill me
knowin that they prankstas, this is going out to
you studio gangstas, see i did dirt, put in work, and
many Niggaz can vouch that, so since i got stripes
i got the right to rap about that, but Niggaz like you
i gotta hate ya, cuz i'm just tired of Suburbian Niggaz talkin about
    they come from projects
knowin ya ain't seen the parts of the streets G
think ya started trying to bang around the time of the peace treaty
wearin khackis and mob while ya ryhme, little fag
tried to sag, but you're floodin' at the same time,
and ya said don't accept ya, ya scared to kick it with yer homies
'cuz ya know they don't respect ya, So Nigga please check
nuts before ya step to deez, muthafuckin Real G's

    Verse Three

Well, it the Knocc Out, definition orginal baby gangster
approach me like you hard, muthafucker i'mma bank ya
shank ya, with my fuckin shank, if i havta
Dr Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg are fuckin actors
    prankstas, studio gangstas, bustas
but this time yer dealin with some real muthafuckers
G's, Nigga please, don't try to step
because if ya do, then a peeled cap is all that would be left
see, young Niggaz like me will break ya off somthin,
claimin my city, but Dre you ain't from Compton
Niggaz like ya'll is what i call Wanna be's it aint shit compared
    to Real Muthafuckin' G's

    [Hook(x2)]

I neva met an OG who never did shit wrong
ya tried to diss the Eazy-E so now Nigga it's on you
and ya Doggy Dogg, think yer all honking and shit
both of you bitches, can come and suck my Doggy dick
beatin up a bitch don't make ya shit, but then again some Niggaz
think it makes a men, Damn it's a trip
how a Nigga could switch so quick from wearin lipstick
to smokin on chronic at picnics, and now ya think yer bigger
but to me you ain't nothin but a bitch ass Nigga
that ain't worth a food stamp, and at
Death Row, i hear ya gettin treated like Boot camp
gotta follow your seargents directions, or get yo' ass
popped with a Smith and Wesson, learn a lesson from the E'z
Stay in your place and don't step to Real muthafuckin G's

Ice Cube - No Vaseline (Eazy E diss) one of my favourite diss track

    "No Vaseline"

Got damn, I'm glad ya'll set it off.
Used to be hard, now you're just wet and soft.
First you was down with the AK,
and now I see you on a video with Michel'le?
    Lookin' like straight bozos.
I saw it comin', that's why I went solo.
    And kept on stompin',
when ya'll mothafuckers moved straight outta Compton.
Livin' with the whites, one big house,
and not another nigga in site.
I started off with too much cargo,
dropped four niggas now I'm makin' all the dough.
    White man just rulin'.
The Niggas With Attitudes -- who ya foolin'?
    Ya'll niggas just phony,
I put that on my mama and my dead homeys.
    Yella Boy's on your team, so you're losin';
Ay yo Dre, stick to producin'.
    Callin' me Arnold, but you Been-a-dick;
Eazy E saw your ass and went in it quick.
You got jealous when I got my own company,
but I'm a man, and ain't nobody helpin' me.
Tryin' to sound like Amerikkka's Most,
you could yell all day but you don't come close.
Cuz you know I'm the one that flown,
ya done run 100 miles, but you still got one to go.
    With the L-E-N-C-H M-O-B, and ya'll disgrace the C-P-T.
Cuz you're gettin' fucked out your green by a white boy,
    with no vaseline...

    [Refrain]
[L.L. sample:] "Now you're gettin' done without vaseline..." [3x]
[Biz Markie sample:] "Damn, it feels good to see people...on it"

The bigger the cap, the bigger the peelin',
who gives a fuck about a punk-ass villain?
    You're gettin' fucked real quick,
and Eazy's dick, is smellin' like MC Ren's shit.
Tried to tell you a year ago,
but Willie D told me to let a hoe be a hoe, so
I couldn't stop you from gettin' ganked,
    now let's play big-bank-take-little-bank.
Tried to dis Ice Cube, it wasn't worth it
cuz the broomstick fit your ass so perfect.
Cut my hair and I'll cut them balls,
cuz I heard you're, like, givin' up the drawers.
    Gang-banged by your manager, fella,
gettin' money out your ass, like a mothafuckin' Ready Teller.
    Givin' up the dollar bills,
now they got the Villain with a purse and high-heels.
So don't believe what Ren say,
cuz he's goin' out like Kunte Kinte,
    but I got a whip for ya Toby;
used to be my homey, now you act like you don't know me.
    It's a case of divide-and-conquer,
cuz you let a Jew break up my crew.
House nigga gotta run and hide,
yellin' Compton, but you moved to Riverside.
So don't front, MC Ren, cuz I remember when you drove a B 2-10.
    Broke as a mothafuckin' joke.
Let you on the scene to back up the Verse Team.
It ain't my fault, one nigga got smart,
and they rippin' your asshole apart.
By takin' your green, oh yeah,
the Villain does get fucked with no vaseline.

    [Refrain scratched]

I never have dinner with the President.
I never have dinner with the President.
I never have dinner with the President.
And when I see your ass again, I'll be hesitant.
Now I think you a snitch,
throw a house nigga in a ditch.
    Half-pint bitch, fuckin' your homeboys.
You little maggot; Eazy E turned faggot.
    With your manager, fella,
fuckin' MC Ren, Dr. Dre, and Yella.
But if they were smart as me,
Eazy E would be hangin' from a tree.
With no vaseline, just a match and a little bit of gasoline.
Light 'em up, burn 'em up, flame on...
till that Jheri curl is gone.
On a permanent vacation, off the Massa plantation.
Heard you both got the same bank account,
dumb nigga, what you thinkin' bout?
Get rid of that Devil real simple, put a bullet in his temple.
Cuz you can't be the Nigga 4 Life crew
with a white Jew tellin' you what to do.
Pullin' wools with your scams, now I gotta play the Silence of the Lambs.
    With a midget who's a punk too,
tryin' to fuck me, but I'd rather fuck you.
Eric Wright, punk, always into somethin', gettin' fucked at night.
By Mista Shitpacker, bend over for the gotdamn cracker, no vaseline...

one of the reasons why i like Ice Cube and he is one of the realest rappers i have ever heard. some hip-hop newbies who are used to seeing him as a comedian never thought he was a gangsta rapper Grin

It amazes me how many idiots will doggedly insist that rap and hip-hop culture is not misogynistic.

This applies to many forms of culture, including pop music and mainstream tv shows. We live in societies which still bare remnants of traditional sexism.

Obviously fans of any subculture will always defend it.

You expect me to bother with anything Tut posts?

It's basically about a psycho, hence the weird shit in the lyrics.

I do recognize there is misogyny, racism, violence etc in hip hop but if you think that's all hip hop is about then stfu srsly (not you, just generally). I don't care much for that side of hip hop. There's also a difference between lyricism/art/dark humour and straight up douchebaggery that I don't think people who don't listen to this music understand.

I'm not out to condemn hip hop or any genre btw just pointing out that ugly lyrics aren't unique to hiphop, obviously there is a range of subgenres, time periods, styles and artists to consider. I think people focus too much in hiphop because it is more flamboyant and 'obvious' than other genres, but it isn't any worse than mainstream music in this way (barring some of the more extreme artists).

One thing people should also keep in mind is that hiphop is often aimed at rebellious or disaffected youth-the lyrics often purposefully reflect this

Just for clarification: I'm not claiming such things are unique to rap and hip-hop, just that they are more common and more exaggerated in those genres.
