Misreading the Quran

Few topics are more important to the future of the free world than its relationship with Islam. Muslims are on the march, here and in Europe, and many make it clear that they have no intention of leaving the West as they found it.

Frighteningly, the university dialogue about this crucial relationship, which often spills over into national policy, is usually controlled by academics who willfully ignore Islam's less savory aspects. Whether they deliberately aid the cause of "jihad" or are so enamored of their own studies of the Islamic world that they are blind to its dark side doesn't matter; either is perilous to our society's long-term security.

Carl Ernst is one such academic. There is little question that he is an important voice in Middle East studies. He is the William R. Kenan Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina, the former chair of the religious studies department, the co-director of Carolina Center for the Study of the Middle East and Muslim Civilizations, the director of the Duke University-UNC Consortium of Middle East Studies, and a board member of the national Middle Eastern Studies Association.

Yet, with a background in comparative religions instead of history or political science, he seems ill-equipped to comprehend the worldwide emergence of radical Islam in a broader sense. His latest book, entitled How to Read the Qur'an: A New Guide, with Select Translations, defends the Quran against Western criticism, largely by emphasizing literary and structural techniques rather than the major themes. It is a paean to minutiae; Not only does Ernst miss the forest for the trees, but he misses the trees for the leaves.

It's not the first time that Ernst has tried to introduce the Muslim holy book in a more benign light than perhaps it deserves. He caused a national controversy at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2002 when he convinced the school to assign Michael Sells' Approaching the Quran as its summer reading program selection required for all incoming freshmen.

Critics attacked the choice, saying that Sells' book whitewashed the Quran's violence by eliminating the more questionable chapters (suras). It was considered especially divisive coming the year after the 9-11 terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center.

Ernst defended his support for Sells' book in a 2003 Spirituality and Health article, in which he concluded:

One happy response to the tragedy of September 11 has been a thirst for knowledge of Islam. This summer reading program was a small step in that direction. As the Qur'an asks, "Are those who know the same as those who do not know?

It astonishes to hear an American to speak of a "happy outcome" of 9-11, especially if that outcome caused Americans to learn about Islam according to the terrorists' wishes. He missed entirely that the surge in interest in Islam was because people wanted to know why it compelled its followers to commit such terrible acts -- not because they sought its wisdom. And quoting the Quran to authoritatively affirm his comments seems provocative beyond the pale.

Ernst also raised questions about his allegiances in 2008, when he traveled to Iran to accept an award for scholarship directly from the radical Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Ernst intended How to Read the Qur'an to be a first exposure for college and even high school students. But it is no straightforward introduction to a complex subject. Ernst eschews thematic discussion of the book, the method most likely to provide the basic understanding that should be the purpose of a first exposure.

In How to Read the Qur'an, Ernst attacks Western critics of the Quran for tending to "take individual verses out of context" when they point out its ominous meanings. But the Quran contains over 100 passages urging violence in a variety of contexts, including jihad. If the angry words appear on page after page, then perhaps they are the context, and there is no reason to doubt that violence is expected of the faithful.

According to Ernst,

many Western scholars claim that the Quran is an "inferior derivative work" for its many uses of previous texts, including the Old and New Testaments and various tales from Arabic poetry and Middle Eastern folklore. He tries to refute their opinions through a process of "intertextuality" that suggests that "the Quran engages with earlier texts as part of a shared civilization."

He takes that idea farther:

... the Quranic appropriations of biblical and other pre-Islamic narratives, oftentimes with new emphases and different conclusions, is a logical extension of the same literary processes of prophecy that have been practiced over the centuries.

One might be tempted to argue that the Quran, with its emphasis on war and hellfire, is hardly the "logical extension" of the New Testament, which suggests turning the other cheek.

The Muslim take on intertextuality is that "divergences between the Quran and biblical texts were proof of corruptions of the Bible," according to Ernst. Only belief in the Quran as divine revelation could uphold such a claim -- scholarly objectivity suggests that the accounts of witnesses closest to the original stories are more likely to be historically accurate. Despite Ernst's objective aspirations -- "no judgment is made whether or not the Quran is a divine revelation or the word of God" -- he offers support for the Muslim view.

Ernst also decries Orientalism, which is the study of the Middle East and Asia from a Western perspective, regarding it as "arbitrary theories by arrogant outsiders." Yet he is perhaps guilty of a similar cultural superiority, albeit one that downplays the violent aspects of Islam that are commonly accepted by believers rather than emphasizing them. He rejects the practice of Muslim scholars to rectify conflicts within the Quran based on the age of texts -- called "abrogation" -- instead preferring to use structural analysis developed by Western scholars that looks at the way the verses are organized. In Ernst's method, many of the more violent verses can be downplayed, whereas abrogation tends to elevate them.

One well-known case of abrogation concerns the Medinan sura "Al Tawba," one of the last written. It contains the infamous "Verse of the Sword," which "commands warfare against unbelievers," and, according to Ernst, "is held by some commentators to abrogate dozens of Quranic verses that proclaim patience and forgiveness for people of the book." This is because the early, less aggressive revelations were made during the Meccan period, when Muhammed had little power and was more conciliatory; in the later Medinan period, he had an army of converts at his disposal and pursued conquest.

But Ernst fails to say that "some commentators" are actually many of the most noted Islamic scholars over the centuries and that there is ample justification for giving primacy according to later texts within the Quran itself. For instance, for Sura 2, "the Cow":

None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things?

And it is not just the Sword Verse that commands war against "unbelievers" or harsh treatment of Jews and Christians. Such commands appear throughout the Quran, such as "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them."

Wow, thanks for including the saner criticism Yeez. A lot of western academics working as apologetic Islamic propaganda isn't okay. Their bias cost us the lives and freedom of minorities in Islamic countries.

So where are we now? where am I with reference to reading Quran for learning about Prophet Muhammad?? we read freaking 45 chapters of Quran through its revelation order and I learned nothing about Prophet of Islam ., well let us go and read Chapter 46 and that is chapter 56 in the Book... According to the chronological order that Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas has given of the Surahs, first Surah Ta Ha was sent down, then Al-Waqi'ah and then Ash-Shu`ara'(Suyuti: Al-Itqan). The same sequence has been reported from Ikrimah (Baihaqi: Dala'il an Nubuwwat).

This is supported also by the story that Ibn Hisham has related from Ibn Ishaq about the affirmation of the Faith by Hadrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). It says that when Hadarat Umar entered his sister's house, Surah Ta Ha was being recited. Hearing his voice the people of the house hid the pages of the Qur'an. Hadrat Umar first seized his brother-in-law and then his sister rose in defense of her husband, he hit her also and wounded her on the head. When Umar saw blood on his sister, he was sorry for what he had done, and said to her: "Show me the manuscript that you have concealed so that I may see what it contains." The sister said: "You are unclean because of your polytheism: wa anna-hu la yamassu-ha ill-at-tahir: "Only a clean person can touch it." So, Hadrat Umar rose and washed himself, and then took up the manuscript to read it. This shows that Sarah Al-Waqi'ah had been sent down by that time for it contains the verse: La yamassu hu ill al mutahharun; and it had been established historically that Hadrat Umar embraced Islam after the first migration to Habash, in the fifth year of the Prophethood.

Theme and Subject Matter

Its theme is the Hereafter, Tauhid and refutation of the Makkan disbelievers' suspicions about the Qur'an. What they regarded as utterly incredible was that Resurrection would ever take place, then the entire system of the earth and heavens would be upset, and when all the dead would be resurrected and called to account, after which the righteous would be admitted to Paradise and the wicked cast into Hell. They regarded all this as imaginary, which could not possibly happen in actual fact. In answer to this, it was said: "When the inevitable event will take place, there will be none to belie its happening, nor will anyone have the Power to avert it, nor prove it to, be an unreal happening. At that time all peoples will be divided into three classes: (1) The foremost in rank and position; (2) the common righteous people and (3) those who denied the Hereafter and persisted in disbelief and polytheism and major sins till the last." How these three classes of the people will be rewarded and punished has been described in detail in vv. 7-56.

We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert
Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great.
But nay! I swear by the falling of stars;

That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable,
In a book that is protected
None shall touch it save the purified ones.
A revelation by the Lord of the worlds.

So that chapter-46 in the revelation order and that is 56th chapter in the book., As usual it also has nothing to do on Prophet of Islam but everything about a silly story of heavens on "people of right side.. people of left side.. people in the middle " and their place in heaven tht is filled wide eyed virgin houries & hell which is filled with horrified devils ..

whole chapter is filled with literal bullshit and at best it could be used to sing some Arabic sonnets/ songs on that imaginary heaven and hell that is often used by Islam preaching rascals to infuse fear in public. Oh well that is what faiths are all about.. believing in rubbish and brain washing folks with rubbish..

So let us go to next chapter ., that is an interesting one and it is about Poets.. So to read that chapter 47 in the revelation order we have to read Surah 26 of the book..and that is AL-SHUARA (THE POETS)., Those verses are supposed to tell us something about poets, poets during the time of the evolution of Quran and evolution of Prophet of Islam, So it may give us some hints on that history of Quran and that historical figure "Muhammad of Quran" . These verses were allegedly reveled in Makka and it has some 227 verses in it..

026.043 : Musa said to them: Cast what you are going to cast.

026.044 : So they cast down their cords and their rods and said: By Firon's power, we shall most surely be victorious.

Well let me stop there at the end of that silly story of Moses turning his rod in to Snake and that eats Sorcerer Snake which also came from their rods and edit all those 48 verses to make it readable before we read further..

Errr...... Moses Snake eats Sorcerer Snake ..... and that is the word God/allah... ..silly faith heads.. mock the fools and move on....

well last post in this folder is almost 2 months old., though I read Quran verses here and there but I haven't read it in its sequential order .,so the last verse I read was
"The Lord of Musa and Haroun." and that is 48th verse of surah AL-SHUARA (THE POETS) ..

So who was the lord of Musa and Haroun which Quran considers as lord of every thing and every one? Off course it is Allah., but the word"Allah was/is NOT there in Jewish scriptures.. Oh well ..I guess allah means.. god of any and every faith head of any faith ., anyways freaking Surah-47 ..chapter -26 in the book has some 227 verses., the way I am reading this chapter it is a long way to go.. so let us read some more verses from it..

026.081 : And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life;

026.082 : And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment.

026.083 : "O my Lord! Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good

026.084 : "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations);

026.085 : And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss

026.086 : And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray;

026.087 : "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;-

026.088 : "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail,

026.089 : Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil).

026.090 "To the righteous the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil),

026.091 : "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view;

026.092 : "And it shall be said to them : Where are those that you used to worship;

026.093 : Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves?

026.094 : So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones,

026.095 : And the hosts of the Shaitan, all.

026.096 : They shall say while they contend therein:

026.097 : By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error,

026.098 : When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds;

026.099 : It was but the guilty who misled us.

026.100 : "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us),

026.101 : "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us).

026.102 : "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'"

026.103 : Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe.

026.104 : And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful.

well let me read that "he said,they said, musa said, Pharaoh said " and at the end the reader gets so confused and start asking who said what and why??

well let us read more of that Surah Al-Shuara (THE POETS) which is nothing but bible stories., it is filled with stories of bible all the way up to verse 189 .,

1). first 45 verses of this surah is about t story of "Moses/ Pharaoh/ Sorcerer drama and chit-chat between them., at the end Moses snake eating the snake of Sorcerer".

2). Next we have story of Moses and his followers moving out of Egypt., Moses splitting the sea, so his followers can walk through it to move to Israel After that these Pharaoh soldiers who were chasing Moses and his people drowning in the sea .. that story goes all the way from verse 50 to verse 68..

3). And then verse 69 starts with the story of Abraham and his son with the words "026.069 : And recite to them the story of Abraham." and it goes all the way to verse 026.104 : And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. in the middle, we have some fillings with some yadi...yada..yadi verses..

So let us read more verses of this chapter., Again these are full of bible stories all the way up to verse 189..

Thereafter We drowned those who remained behind.
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.

The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers.
Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?

"Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves?

"Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed you abundance of what you know.
He has given you abundance of cattle and children
"And Gardens and Springs.
"Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day."
They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers
This is naught but a custom of the ancients;
And we are not going to be punished.
So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.

The Story of Thamud people ...Verses 026.141-159

The Thamud (people) rejected the messengers.
Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)?
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust.
"So fear Allah, and obey me.
And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds:
"Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here?-
In gardens and fountains,
And cornfields and palm-trees having fine spadices?
"And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill.
"But fear Allah and obey me;
"And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant,-
Who make mischief in the land and do not act aright.
They said: You are only of the deluded ones;
You are no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!"
He said: This is a she-camel; she shall have her portion of water, and you have your portion of water on an appointed time;
"Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you."
But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets.
So the punishment overtook them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe.
And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful.

The story of people of Lut ............Verses 026.160-175

The people of Lut rejected the messengers.
Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust.

"Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males,
"And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!"
They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!"
He said; Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your
"O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!"
So We saved him and his household, every one,
Except an old woman, among those who remained behind.
But the rest We destroyed utterly.
And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned.
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful.

The story of The Companions of the Wood ....Verses 026.176-189

The Companions of the Wood rejected the messenger
When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)?
Surely I am a faithful messenger to you;
"So fear Allah and obey me.
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
Give a full measure and be not of those who give less;
"And weigh with scales true and upright.
"And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief.
"And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)"
They said: You are only of those deluded;
"you are no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!"
He said: My Lord knows best what you do.
But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day.

So there is nothing about Prophet of Islam in this Surah Al-Shuara until the verse 189., After finishing this chapter we will read the same stories from the horse mouth ., All those above stories are nothing to do with New Testament., so we just have to read them from OT..

Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened,
It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)!

026.208-217
And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners,
To remind, and We are never unjust.
No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation):
It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it).
Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it.
So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished.
And warn your nearest relations,
And be kind to him who follows you of the believers
Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!"

026.217-220

And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,-
Who sees you when you stand up.
And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah.
For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things.

026.221-226

Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend?
They descend upon every lying, sinful one,
(Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars.
And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them.
Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley?
And that they say that which they do not do,

026.227 :
Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back

So we read whole chapter-26 .. all 227 verses of that "The Surah Al-Shuara in these four posts

1). Al-Shuara Verses 1 to 48

2). Al-Shuara Verses 48 to 104

3). Al-Shuara Verses 105 to 189

4). Al-Shuara Verses 190 to 227

Now let me re-read those 4 posts w.r.t the stories we read in old testament after all All that "Surah Al-Shuara" is nothing but rehashed stories of Bible with some 20 or so extra verses that acts as parables to put those stories and their usefulness for improving the image of Islam of that time. on the way let me rephrase same words from those 1st two posts as songs and sonnets of Quran instead some verses/words of allahgod...

Quran was indeed without doubt a poetic manual of that time, and much of it is copy/pasted from stories of earlier faiths that were floating during that time. Fools took wonderful Arabic poetry out of it and made it as rule book of loot booty

He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood:
And by breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me);
"And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me."
Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call).
"So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds;
Then send with us the children of Israel.

Al-Shuara Verses 026.018-038

(Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life?
And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful.
Moses said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course;
So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the messengers;
And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel?
Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds?
(Moses) said: " The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure.
(Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear?
(Moses) said: " : Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old.
(Pharaoh) said: : Most surely your Messenger who is sent to you is mad.
(Moses) said: : The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand.
(Pharaoh) said: : If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned.
(Moses) said : What! even if I bring to you something manifest?
(Pharaoh) said: : Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones
So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!
And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers.
(Pharaoh) said to the Chiefs around him: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed:
"His plan is to get you out of your land by his sorcery; then what is it ye counsel?"
They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while), and dispatch to the Cities heralds to collect-
"And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed."
So the sorcerers were got together for the appointment of a day well-known,

Al-Shuara Verses 026.039-048

And the people were told: "Are ye (now) assembled?-
"That we may follow the sorcerers (in religion) if they win?"
So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: "Of course - shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win?
He said: "Yea, (and more),- for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)."
Musa said to them: Cast what you are going to cast.
So they cast down their cords and their rods and said: By Firon's power, we shall most surely be victorious.
Then Moses threw his rod, when, behold, it straightway swallows up all the falsehoods which they fake!
Then did the sorcerers fall down, prostrate in adoration,
Crying: They said: We believe in the Lord of the worlds:
The Lord of Musa and Haroun.

Well that is how we should read Quran.. as sonnets and songs of old faith/religious stories in Arabic.. and all those 48 or so verses are nothing but the story from Exodus Book-6 and Exodus Book-7 .

So before we read that exodus story ..may be watch that damn movie..... let us hear Quran recitation of that surah Ash Shu'ara' By Salah Bukhatir.

So where are we? where am I? what am I and why I didn't read Quran for the past month so ? Well I read it but I didn't read whole chapter once the way I usually read.. anyways ., we read every verses 47 chapters but it told me nothing about Prophet of Islam ., it is all stories over stories , parables, songs nd sonnets ., so let us go and read chapter 48.. and that is AL-NAML (THE ANT, THE ANTS) which incidentally is 27th chapter ..Surah Al-Naml ..Ann.. The Ants

Damn we can write Quran in the name of every species ... Ants and cows, cats and rats , dogs and pigs ...and and baboons and buffoons .. why not?? we can string few sentences together to make bigger alalh book by writing songs sonnets and stories on every species that are there in Jungles.

So our chapter Ants has 93 verses and allegedly revealed to prophet of Islam (PBUH) in Mecca..

027.009 : O Musa! surely I am Allah, the Mighty, the Wise;

027.010 : And cast down your staff. So when he saw it in motion as if it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not return: O Musa! fear not; surely the messengers shall not fear in My presence;

027.011 : "But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

027.012 : "Now put thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm): (these are) among the nine Signs (thou wilt take) to Pharaoh and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression."

027.013 So when Our clear signs came to them, they said: This is clear enchantment.

027.014 : And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers.

027.015 : And certainly We gave knowledge to Dawood and Sulaiman, and they both said: Praise be to Allah, Who has made us to excel many of His believing servants.

027.016 : And Sulaiman was Dawood's heir, and he said: O men! we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given all things; most surely this is manifest grace.

027.017 : And before Solomon were marshalled his hosts,- of Jinns and men and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks.

027.018 : Until when they came to the valley of the Naml, a Namlite said: O Naml! enter your houses, (that) Sulaiman and his hosts may not crush you while they do not know.

027.019 : So he smiled, wondering at her word, and said: My Lord! grant me that I should be grateful for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I should do good such as Thou art pleased with, and make me enter, by Thy mercy, into Thy servants, the good ones.

027.020 : And he reviewed the birds, then said: How is it I see not the hoopoe or is it that he is of the absentees?

027.021 : I will most certainly punish him with a severe punishment, or kill him, or he shall bring to me a clear plea.

027.022 : And he tarried not long, then said: I comprehend that which you do not comprehend and I have brought to you a sure information from Sheba.

027.023 : Surely I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given abundance and she has a mighty throne:

So in the above post we read some 23 verses of Ants.. "The chapter Ants" and now let us read another 20 or so verse so we will know what All almighty All great Allah said in that book..

027.032 : She said: "Ye chiefs! advise me in (this) my affair: no affair have I decided except in your presence."

027.033 : They said: We are possessors of strength and possessors of mighty prowess, and the command is yours, therefore see what you will command.

027.034 : She said: Surely the kings, when they enter a town, ruin it and make the noblest of its people to be low, and thus they (always) do;

027.035: And surely I am going to send a present to them, and shall wait to see what (answer) do the messengers bring back.

027.036 So when he came to Sulaiman, he said: What! will you help me with wealth? But what Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Nay, you are exultant because of your present;

027.037 Go back to them, so we will most certainly come to them with hosts which they shall have no power to oppose, and we will most certainly expel them therefrom in abasement, and they shall be in a state of ignominy.

027.038 : He said: O chiefs! which of you can bring to me her throne before they come to me in submission?

027.039 : Said an 'Ifrit, of the Jinns: " I will bring it to you before you rise up from your place; and most surely I am strong (and) trusty for it.

027.040 : One who had the knowledge of the Book said: I will bring it to you in the twinkling of an eye. Then when he saw it settled beside him, he said: This is of the grace of my Lord that He may try me whether I am grateful or ungrateful; and whoever is grateful, he is grateful only for his own soul, and whoever is ungrateful, then surely my Lord is Self-sufficient, Honored.

027.041 He said: Alter her throne for her, we will see whether she follows the right way or is of those who do not go aright.

027.042 : So when she came, it was said: Is your throne like this? She said: It is as it were the same, and we were given the knowledge before it, and we were submissive.

027.043 : And what she worshipped besides Allah prevented her, surely she was of an unbelieving people.

027.044 : It was said to her: Enter the palace; but when she saw it she deemed it to be a great expanse of water, and bared her legs. He said: Surely it is a palace made smooth with glass. She said: My Lord! surely I have been unjust to myself, and I submit with Sulaiman to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

027.045 : And certainly We sent to Samood their brother Salih, saying: Serve Allah; and lo! they became two sects quarrelling with each other.

027.046 : He said: O my people! why do you seek to hasten on the evil before the good? Why do you not ask forgiveness of Allah so that you may be dealt with mercifully?

027.047 : They said: We have met with ill luck on account of you and on account of those with you. He said: The cause of your evil fortune is with Allah; nay, you are a people who are tried.

027.048 : And there were in the city nine persons who made mischief in the land and did not act aright.

027.049 : They said: Swear to each other by Allah that we will certainly make a sudden attack on him and his family by night, then we will say to his heir: We did not witness the destruction of his family, and we are most surely truthful.

027.050 : And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan while they perceived not.

027.051 : See, then, how was the end of their plan that We destroyed them and their people, all (of them).

027.052 : So those are their houses fallen down because they were unjust, most surely there is a sign in this for a people who know.

027.053 : And We saved those who believed and practiced righteousness.

027.058 : And We rained on them a rain, and evil was the rain of those who had been warned.

027.059 : Say: Praise be to Allah and peace on His servants whom He has chosen: is Allah better, or what they associate (with Him)?

027.060 : Nay, He Who created the heavens and the earth, and sent down for you water from the cloud; then We cause to grow thereby beautiful gardens; it is not possible for you that you should make the trees thereof to grow. Is there a god with Allah? Nay! they are people who deviate.

027.061 : Or, Who has made the earth firm to live in; made rivers in its midst; set thereon mountains immovable; and made a separating bar between the two bodies of flowing water? (can there be another) god besides Allah? Nay, most of them know not.

027.062 : Or, Who answers the distressed one when he calls upon Him and removes the evil, and He will make you successors in the earth. Is there a god with Allah? Little is it that you mind!

027.063 : Or, Who guides you through the depths of darkness on land and sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy? (Can there be another) god besides Allah?- High is Allah above what they associate with Him!

027.064 : Or, Who originates creation, then repeats it, and who gives you sustenance from heaven and earth? (Can there be another) god besides Allah? Say, "Bring forth your argument, if ye are telling the truth!"

027.065 : Say: No one in the heavens and the earth knows the unseen but Allah; and they do not know when they shall be raised.

027.066 : : Nay, their knowledge respecting the hereafter is slight and hasty; nay, they are in doubt about it; nay, they are quite blind to it

027.067 : The Unbelievers say: "What! when we become dust,- we and our fathers,- shall we really be raised (from the dead)?

027.068 : "It is true we were promised this,- we and our fathers before (us): these are nothing but tales of the ancients."

027.069 : Say: Travel in the earth, then see how was the end of the guilty.

027.070 : And grieve not for them and be not distressed because of what they plan.

027.071 : And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful?

027.072 : Say: "It may be that some of the events which ye wish to hasten on may be (close) in your pursuit!"

027.073 : And surely your Lord is the Lord of grace to men, but most of them are not grateful.

027.074 : And most surely your Lord knows what their heartss conceal and what they manifest.

027.075 : And there is nothing concealed in the heaven and the earth but it is in a clear book.

027.076 : Surely this Quran declares to the children of Israel most of what they differ in.

027.077 : And it certainly is a Guide and a Mercy to those who believe.

027.078 : Verily thy Lord will decide between them by His Decree: and He is Exalted in Might, All-Knowing.

027.079 : So put thy trust in Allah: for thou art on (the path of) manifest Truth.

027.080 : Surely you do not make the dead to hear, and you do not make the deaf to hear the call when they go back retreating.

027.081 : Nor can you be a guide to the blind out of their error; you cannot make to bear (any one) except those who believe in Our communications, so they submit.

027.082 : And when the word shall come to pass against them, We shall bring forth for them a creature from the earth that shall i wound them, because people did not believe in Our communications.

027.083 : And on the day when We will gather from every nation a party from among those who rejected Our communications, then they shall be formed into groups.

027.084 : Until when they come, He will say: Did you reject My communications while you had no comprehensive knowledge of them? Or what was it that you did?

027.085 : And the Word will be fulfilled against them, because of their wrong-doing, and they will be unable to speak

027.086 : Do they not consider that We have made the night that. they may rest therein, and the day to give light? Most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe.

027.087 : And on the day when the trumpet shall be blown, then those who are in the heavens and those who are in the earth shall be terrified except such as Allah please, and all shall come to him abased.

027.088: And you see the mountains, you think them to be solid, and they shall pass away as the passing away of the cloud-- the handiwork of Allah Who has made every thing thoroughly; surely He is Aware of what you do.

027.089 : If any do good, good will (accrue) to them therefrom; and they will be secure from terror that Day.

027.090 : And if any do evil, their faces will be thrown headlong into the Fire: "Do ye receive a reward other than that which ye have earned by your deeds?"

027.091 : I am commanded only that I should serve the Lord of this city, Who has made it sacred, and His are all things; and I am commanded that I should be of these who submit;

027.092 : And that I should recite the Quran. Therefore whoever goes aright, he goes aright for his own soul, and whoever goes ' astray, then say: I am only one of the warners.

027.093 : And say: "Praise be to Allah, Who will soon show you His Signs, so that ye shall know them"; and thy Lord is not unmindful of all that ye do.

well that is whole chapter of Quran.. All 93 verses of chapter 48.. The Ants., I CAN CERTAINLY MAKE A BEAUTIFUL SONGS/SONNETS OUT OF IT .,

So what is it telling?

Why did those verses were allegedly reveled?

So we read 48 chapters of Quran without learning anything about historical Muhammad the alleged prophet of Islam., In fact all those 48 chapters and every verse of them can be written from the stories that were floating in and around Arabian peninsula much before the birth of alleged birth Prophet "Muhammad" .. that is year 571 .. We don't need prophets and we don't need angels to tell old stories., what all we need is some one retelling/writing the stories. Well let us read next chapter and that chapter 49- AL-QASAS (THE STORY, STORIES) .,when the name itself is "stories" .,how can I expect some real history of its time from chapter 49? Anyways Chapter-49 in alleged revelation order becomes chapter-28 in the present book.. and it has some 88 verses in it.

028.009 : And Firon's wife said: A refreshment of the eye to me and to you; do not slay him; maybe he will be useful to us, or we may take him for a son; and they did not perceive.

028.010 : But there came to be a void in the heart of the mother of Moses: She was going almost to disclose his (case), had We not strengthened her heart (with faith), so that she might remain a (firm) believer.

028.011 : And she said to the sister of (Moses), "Follow him" so she (the sister) watched him in the character of a stranger. And they knew not.

028.012 : And We ordained that he refused to suck any foster mother before, so she said: Shall I point out to you the people of a house who will take care of him for you, and they will be benevolent to him?

028.013 : So We gave him back to his mother that her eye might be refreshed, and that she might no grieve, and that she might know that the promise of Allah is true, but most of them do not know.

028.014 : And when he attained his maturity and became full grown, We granted him wisdom and knowledge; and thus do We reward those who do good (to others).

028.015 : And he went into the city at a time of unvigilance on the part of its people, so he found therein two men fighting, one being of his party and the other of his foes, and he who was of his party cried out to him for help against him who was of his enemies, so Musa struck him with his fist and killed him. He said: This is on account of the Shaitan's doing; surely he is an enemy, openly leading astray.

028.016 : He said: My Lord! surely I have done harm to myself, so do Thou protect me. So He protected him; surely He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

028.017 : He said: My Lord! because Thou hast bestowed a favor on me, I shall never be a backer of the guilty.

028.018 : And he was in the city, fearing, awaiting, when lo! he who had asked his assistance the day before was crying out to him for aid. Musa said to him: You are most surely one erring manifestly.

028.019 : Then, when he decided to lay hold of the man who was an enemy to both of them, that man said: "O Moses! Is it thy intention to slay me as thou slewest a man yesterday? Thy intention is none other than to become a powerful violent man in the land, and not to be one who sets things right!"

028.020 : And there came a man, running, from the furthest end of the City. He said: "O Moses! the Chiefs are taking counsel together about thee, to slay thee: so get thee away, for I do give thee sincere advice."

028.021 : He therefore got away therefrom, looking about, in a state of fear. He prayed "O my Lord! save me from people given to wrong-doing."

028.022 : Then, when he turned his face towards (the land of) Madyan, he said: "I do hope that my Lord will show me the smooth and straight Path."

028.023 : And when he came to the water of Madyan, he found on it a group of men watering, and he found besides them two women keeping back (their flocks). He said: What is the matter with you? They said: We cannot water until the shepherds take away (their sheep) from the water, and our father is a very old man.

028.024 : So he watered (their flocks) for them; then he turned back to the shade, and said:"O my Lord! truly am I in (desperate) need of any good that Thou dost send me!"

028.025 : Afterwards one of the (damsels) came (back) to him, walking bashfully. She said: "My father invites thee that he may reward thee for having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear thou not: (well) hast thou escaped from unjust people."

028.026 : Said one of them: O my father! employ him, surely the best of those that you can employ is the strong man, the faithful one.

028.027 : He said: I desire to marry one of these two daughters of mine to you on condition that you should serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be of your own free will, and I do not wish to be hard to you; if Allah please, you will find me one of the good.

028.028 : He said: This shall be (an agreement) between me and you; whichever of the two terms I fulfill, there shall be no wrongdoing to me; and Allah is a witness of what we say.

028.029 : So when Musa had fulfilled the term, and he journeyed with his family, he perceived on this side of the mountain a fire. He said to his family: Wait, I have seen a fire, maybe I will bring to you from it some news or a brand of fire, so that you may warm yourselves.

well that is 29 verses out of 88, more than 1/4 th of the chapter 49 .. all of that is nothing but tit bits of story Moses from OT ., let me edit that silly story and make some sonnets out of it

028.034 : And my brother, Haroun, he is more eloquent of tongue than I, therefore send him with me as an aider, verifying me: surely I fear that they would reject me.

028.035 : He said: We will strengthen your arm with your brother, and We will give you both an authority, so that they shall not reach you; (go) with Our signs; you two and those who follow you shall be uppermost.

028.036 : So when Musa came to them with Our clear signs, they said: This is nothing but forged enchantment, and we never heard of it amongst our fathers of old.

028.037 : And Musa said: My Lord knows best who comes with guidance from Him, and whose shall be the good end of the abode; surely the unjust shall not be successful.

028.038 : And Firon said: O chiefs! I do not know of any god for you besides myself; therefore kindle a fire for me, O Haman, for brick, then prepare for me a lofty building so that I may obtain knowledge of Musa's god, and most surely I think him to be one of the liars.

028.039 : And he was unjustly proud in the land, he and his hosts, and they deemed that they would not be brought back to Us.

028.040 : So We caught hold of him and his hosts, then We cast them into the sea, and see how was the end of the unjust.

028.041 : And We made them Imams who call to the fire, and on the day of resurrection they shall not be assisted.

028.042 : And We caused a curse to follow them in this world, and on the day of resurrection they shall be of those made to appear hideous.

028.043 : We did reveal to Moses the Book after We had destroyed the earlier generations, (to give) Insight to men, and guidance and Mercy, that they might receive admonition.

028.044 : And you were not on the western side when We revealed to Musa the commandment, and you were not among the witnesses;

028.045 : But We raised up generations, then life became prolonged to them; and you were not dwelling among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our communications, but We were the senders.

028.046 : And you were not on this side of the mountain when We called, but a mercy from your Lord that you may warn a people to whom no warner came before you, that they may be mindful.

028.047 : And were it not that there should befall them a disaster for what their hands have sent before, then they should say: Our Lord! why didst Thou not send to us a messenger so that we should have followed Thy communications and been of the believers !

028.048 : But (now) when the truth has come to them from Us, they say: Why is he not given the like of what was given to Musa? What! did they not disbelieve in what Musa was given before? They say: Two magicians backing up each other; and they say: Surely we are unbelievers in all.

028.049 : Say: "Then bring ye a Book from Allah, which is a better guide than either of them, that I may follow it! (do), if ye are truthful!"

028.050 : But if they hearken not to thee, know that they only follow their own lusts: and who is more astray than one who follow his own lusts, devoid of guidance from Allah? for Allah guides not people given to wrong-doing.

028.051 : And certainly We have made the word to reach them so that they may be mindful.

028.052 : Those to whom We sent the Book before this,- they do believe in this (revelation):

028.053 : And when it is recited to them they say: We believe in it surely it is the truth from our Lord; surely we were submitters before this.

028.054 : Twice will they be given their reward, for that they have persevered, that they avert Evil with Good, and that they spend (in charity) out of what We have given them.

028.055 : And when they hear vain talk, they turn away therefrom and say: "To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you: we seek not the ignorant."

028.056 : Surely you cannot guide whom you love, but Allah guides whom He pleases, and He knows best the followers of the right way.

028.057 : And they say: If we follow the guidance with you, we shall be carried off from our country. What ! have We not settled them in a safe, sacred territory to which fruits of every kind shall be drawn?-- a sustenance from Us; but most of them do not know.

028.058 : And how many a town have We destroyed which exulted in its means of subsistence, so these are their abodes, they have not been dwelt in after them except a little, and We are the inheritors,

028.059 : And your Lord never destroyed the towns until He raised in their metropolis a messenger, reciting to them Our communications, and We never destroyed the towns except when their people were unjust.

028.060 : And whatever things you have been given are only a provision of this world's life and its adornment, and whatever is with Allah is better and more lasting; do you not then understand?

028.064 : And it will be said: Call your associate-gods. So they will call upon them, but they will not answer them, and they shall see the punishment; would that they had followed the right way!

028.065 : That Day (Allah) will call to them, and say: "What was the answer ye gave to the messengers?"

028.066 : Then the pleas shall become obscure to them on that day, so they shall not ask each other.

028.067 : But any that (in this life) had repented, believed, and worked righteousness, will have hopes to be among those who achieve salvation.

028.068 : And your Lord creates and chooses whom He pleases; to choose is not theirs; glory be to Allah, and exalted be He above what they associate (with Him).

028.069 : And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they manifest.

028.070 : And He is Allah: There is no god but He. To Him be praise, at the first and at the last: for Him is the Command, and to Him shall ye (all) be brought back.

028.071 : Say: Tell me, if Allah were to make the night to continue incessantly on you till the day of resurrection, who is the god besides Allah that could bring you light? Do you not then hear?

028.072 : Say: Tell me, if Allah were to make the day to continue incessantly on you till the day of resurrection, who is the god besides Allah that could bring you the night in which you take rest? Do you not then see?

028.073 : And out of His mercy He has made for you the night and the day, that you may rest therein, and that you may seek of His grace, and that you may give thanks.

028.074 : And on the day when He shall call them and say: Where are those whom you deemed to be My associates?

028.075 : And We will draw forth from among every nation a witness and say: Bring your proof; then shall they know that the truth is Allah's, and that which they forged shall depart from them.

028.076 : Qarun was doubtless, of the people of Moses; but he acted insolently towards them: such were the treasures We had bestowed on him that their very keys would have been a burden to a body of strong men, behold, his people said to him: "Exult not, for Allah loveth not those who exult (in riches).

028.077 : And seek by means of what Allah has given you the future abode, and do not neglect your portion of this world, and do good (to others) as Allah has done good to you, and do not seek to make mischief in the land, surely Allah does not love the mischief-makers.

028.078 : He said: "This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge which I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed, before him, (whole) generations,- which were superior to him in strength and greater in the amount (of riches) they had collected And the guilty shall not be asked about their faults.

028.079 : So he went forth among his people in the (pride of his wordly) glitter. Said those whose aim is the Life of this World: "Oh! that we had the like of what Qarun has got! for he is truly a lord of mighty good fortune!"

028.080 : And those who were given the knowledge said: Woe to you! Allah's reward is better for him who believes and does good, and none is made to receive this except the patient.

028.081 : Then We caused the earth to swallow up him and his house; and he had not (the least little) party to help him against Allah, nor could he defend himself.

028.082 : And those who had envied his position the day before began to say on the morrow: "Ah! it is indeed Allah Who enlarges the provision or restricts it, to any of His servants He pleases! had it not been that Allah was gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up! Ah! those who reject Allah will assuredly never prosper."

028.083 : (As for) that future abode, We assign it to those who have no desire to exalt themselves in the earth nor to make mischief and the good end is for those who guard (against evil)

028.084 : If any does good, the reward to him is better than his deed; but if any does evil, the doers of evil are only punished (to the extent) of their deeds.

028.085 : Most surely He Who has made the Quran binding on you will bring you back to the destination. Say: My Lord knows best him who has brought the guidance and him who is in manifest error.

028.086 : And you did not expect that the Book would be inspired to you, but it is a mercy from your Lord, therefore be not a backer-up of the unbelievers.

028.087 : And let them not turn you aside from the communications of Allah after they have been revealed to you, and call (men) to your Lord and be not of the polytheists.

028.088 : And call not with Allah any other god; there is no god but He, every thing is perishable but He; His is the judgment, and to Him you shall be brought back.

So we read 49 chapters of Quran,, each and every verse from them just to figure out whether we can get any direct or indirect information on prophet of Islam from it. But so far Quran told me nothing and in fact it is strengthening my hypothesis of Islam that "THERE WAS NO PROPHET MUHAMMAD IN ISLAM and the present Quran as read now was put together by different authors."

Anyways let us recap what that Quran’s chapter 49- AL-QASAS (THE STORY, STORIES) really telling us ., Out of 88 verses of that chapter all the way to verse -48

I think the purpose of many of the stories Quran was not to provide insight into, or even justification for the life of “Muhammad” or the other “prophets” it mentions, but rather to form a sort of justification for the unifying, mythical basis upon which the emerging Arab empire could be built by using appeals to previous mythical figures the readers/listeners would have been familiar with.

It did not matter what the names of the Pharaohs were, because that is not how the listeners would have cared about the myth as they understood the appeal. It was more about appeals to the story (myth) itself: the Israelites were able to come together under the unifying myth of Moses/God, so why can’t the Arabs come together under the unifying myth of Muhammad/Allah?

It’s similar to the way many Americans speak about “The Pilgrims” or “The Founding Fathers.” The historicity of the individual players – their lives, motives, views, etc. – is rarely what is cared about when people start using them to make appeals to ideals such as religious freedom or equality. It’s more of an assertion of an underlying myth about America’s supposed principles.

I think the purpose of many of the stories Quran was not to provide insight into, or even justification for the life of “Muhammad” or the other “prophets” it mentions, but rather to form a sort of justification for the unifying, mythical basis upon which the emerging Arab empire could be built by using appeals to previous mythical figures the readers/listeners would have been familiar with.

It did not matter what the names of the Pharaohs were, because that is not how the listeners would have cared about the myth as they understood the appeal. It was more about appeals to the story (myth) itself: the Israelites were able to come together under the unifying myth of Moses/God, so why can’t the Arabs come together under the unifying myth of Muhammad/Allah?

You have a point there Ibn and that is one of the ways to explain why these bible stories are there in Quran ., but questions could be framed. "Unification of tribes living in Arabia of that time " can NOT be the only reason for Quran bible stories and expansion of Islam with-in Arabia and outside of Arabian peninsula .,

   For eg., All your tribes, The "Ibn Tribes" of that time were folks of a Jewish sect . Arabia was multicultural land with multi-religious faiths. So if we carefully read Quran of so-called Meccan verses ( Islam of 8 years or so )

All those verses of quran during that time are only there to say "Christ was not son of God" ..So reading that Quran I can say "Quran preaching was actually started by some Arabian Jewish guy"..

Now after those first 8 years years of Islam/Quran the stories of Quran in the next 13 years all the way until the death of alleged prophet go different direction ..

8.    It may be that your Lord will have mercy on you, and if you again return (to disobedience) We too will return (to punishment), and We have made hell a prison for the unbelievers.

9.    Surely this Quran guides to that which is most upright and gives good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a great reward.

10.    And that (as for) those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have prepared for them a painful chastisement.

11.    And man prays for evil as he ought to pray for good, and man is ever hasty.

12.    And We have made the night and the day two signs, then We have made the sign of the night to pass away and We have made the sign of the day manifest, so that you may seek grace from your Lord, and that you might know the numbering of years and the reckoning; and We have explained everything with distinctness.

13.    And We have made every man's actions to cling to his neck, and We will bring forth to him on the resurrection day a book which he will find wide open:

14.    Read your book; your own self is sufficient as a reckoner against you this day.

15.    Whoever goes aright, for his own soul does he go aright; and whoever goes astray, to its detriment only does he go astray: nor can the bearer of a burden bear the burden of another, nor do We chastise until We raise an apostle.

16.    And when We wish to destroy a town, We send Our commandment to the people of it who lead easy lives, but they transgress therein; thus the word proves true against it, so We destroy it with utter destruction.

17.    And how many of the generations did We destroy after Nuh! and your Lord is sufficient as Knowing and Seeing with regard to His servants' faults.

18.    Whoever desires this present life, We hasten to him therein what We please for whomsoever We desire, then We assign to him the hell; he shall enter it despised, driven away.

19.    And whoever desires the hereafter and strives for it as he ought to strive and he is a believer; (as for) these, their striving shall surely be accepted.

20.    All do We aid-- these as well as those-- out of the bounty of your Lord, and the bounty of your Lord is not confined.

21.    See how We have made some of them to excel others, and certainly the hereafter is much superior in respect of excellence.

22.    Do not associate with Allah any other god, lest you sit down despised, neglected.

23.    And your Lord has commanded that you shall not serve (any) but Him, and goodness to your parents. If either or both of them reach old age with you, say not to them (so much as) "Ugh" nor chide them, and speak to them a generous word.

24.    And make yourself submissively gentle to them with compassion, and say: O my Lord! have compassion on them, as they brought me up (when I was) little.

25.    Your Lord knows best what is in your minds; if you are good, then He is surely Forgiving to those who turn (to Him) frequently.

26.    And give to the near of kin his due and (to) the needy and the wayfarer, and do not squander wastefully.

27.    Surely the squanderers are the fellows of the Shaitans and the Shaitan is ever ungrateful to his Lord.

28.    And if you turn away from them to seek mercy from your Lord, which you hope for, speak to them a gentle word.

29.    And do not make your hand to be shackled to your neck nor stretch it forth to the utmost (limit) of its stretching forth, lest you should (afterwards) sit down blamed, stripped off.

30.    Surely your Lord makes plentiful the means of subsistence for whom He pleases and He straitens (them); surely He is ever Aware of, Seeing, His servants.

well that is what it is ...As I say often Quran should be read at least 10 verse to make story or a sonnet/song out of it.. so let me read those verses carefully and cut them at right places to make some sense ..

Let me read those 30 verses again .. making them as sonnets songs and stories that a preacher in the past might have said

So that is how we should read Quran.. at least 10 verses continuously to make a story of a preacher .. see those verse 9 and 10.,they are repeated quite often in Quran, sometimes within a same surah .,They are essentially reinforcing the faith for those who believe and it simply says "Allah/god gives gives good news good stuff ..good girls.. good wealth to the believers and hell fire to those who question the faith.."

So instead of reading some 10/15 verses of quran in a chapter continuously, if we pick a verse here and pick a verse there and write some Tafsir on them., and on top of it, add some of your own comments and nonsense .,Then Quran becomes a Political manual for muslim politicians and Mullahs ., It also becomes Political manual for those who question Islam ..

and it is all for loot and booty..the power game well let medoanother cut in to that chapter -50

Again see those verses 16 to 21 ., They are all giving same message "THE FAITH REINFORCING STATEMENTS" .. goody goodies to believers and hell fire ..allsorts of troubles to non-believers or who questions the faith/faith heads .. In fact such verses we can find in every faith book or we can add them in to other faith books without really changing the meaning or their faith.. that is an interesting point to note about Quran..

Those are general statements that will fit in to every faith or every organization .. do they need to be words of allah/god? nah they are simple freebies of linguistic faith reinforcing statements well read those rest of the quran statements of above post until verse -30 of chapter-50

don't kill your children
be compassionate to others
speak nicely be generous
and Do not associate with Allah any other god

So what is wrong with that? good stuff..good stuff .. And why worry if some one associate allah with their own god/s ..whatever?? .. don't worry allah god is powerful enough to care of such people. Anyway essentially every faith book has such statements in one form or other form directly or indirectly..

That was the last verse I read from Quran for this folder., so we are in 50th chapter in the revelation order ., and we read some 30 verses out 111 verses of that Surah-50.. aka chapter 17 .,let us read another 30 verses or so from it

34. Come not nigh to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength; and fulfil (every) engagement, for (every) engagement will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).

35. Give full measure when ye measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight: that is the most fitting and the most advantageous in the final determination.

36. And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).

37. Nor walk on the earth with insolence: for thou canst not rend the earth asunder, nor reach the mountains in height.

38. Of all such things the evil is hateful in the sight of thy Lord.

39. These are among the (precepts of) wisdom, which thy Lord has revealed to thee. Take not, with Allah, another object of worship, lest thou shouldst be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected.

40. Has then your Lord (O Pagans!) preferred for you sons, and taken for Himself daughters among the angels? Truly ye utter a most dreadful saying!

41. We have explained (things) in various (ways) in this Qur'an, in order that they may receive admonition, but it only increases their flight (from the Truth)!

42. Say: If there had been (other) gods with Him, as they say,- behold, they would certainly have sought out a way to the Lord of the Throne!

43. Glory to Him! He is high above all that they say!- Exalted and Great (beyond measure)!

44. The seven heavens and the earth, and all beings therein, declare His glory: there is not a thing but celebrates His praise; And yet ye understand not how they declare His glory! Verily He is Oft-Forbear, Most Forgiving!

45. When thou dost recite the Qur'an, We put, between thee and those who believe not in the Hereafter, a veil invisible:

46. And We put coverings over their hearts (and minds) lest they should understand the Qur'an, and deafness into their ears: when thou dost commemorate thy Lord and Him alone in the Qur'an, they turn on their backs, fleeing (from the Truth).

47. We know best why it is they listen, when they listen to thee; and when they meet in private conference, behold, the wicked say, "Ye follow none other than a man bewitched!"

48. See what similes they strike for thee: but they have gone astray, and never can they find a way.

49. They say: "What! when we are reduced to bones and dust, should we really be raised up (to be) a new creation?"

50. Say: "(Nay!) be ye stones or iron,

51. "Or created matter which, in your minds, is hardest (to be raised up),- (Yet shall ye be raised up)!" then will they say: "Who will cause us to return?" Say: "He who created you first!" Then will they wag their heads towards thee, and say, "When will that be?" Say, "May be it will be quite soon!

52. "It will be on a Day when He will call you, and ye will answer (His call) with (words of) His praise, and ye will think that ye tarried but a little while!"

53. Say to My servants that they should (only) say those things that are best: for Satan doth sow dissensions among them: For Satan is to man an avowed enemy.

54. It is your Lord that knoweth you best: If He please, He granteth you mercy, or if He please, punishment: We have not sent thee to be a disposer of their affairs for them.

55. And it is your Lord that knoweth best all beings that are in the heavens and on earth: We did bestow on some prophets more (and other) gifts than on others: and We gave to David (the gift of) the Psalms.

56. Say: "Call on those - besides Him - whom ye fancy: they have neither the power to remove your troubles from you nor to change them."

57. Those whom they call upon do desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord, - even those who are nearest: they hope for His Mercy and fear His Wrath: for the Wrath of thy Lord is something to take heed of.

58. There is not a population but We shall destroy it before the Day of Judgment or punish it with a dreadful Penalty: that is written in the (eternal) Record.

59. And We refrain from sending the signs, only because the men of former generations treated them as false: We sent the she-camel to the Thamud to open their eyes, but they treated her wrongfully: We only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil).

who knows whether it is revealed or just copy pasted.,added by different guys at different times? big Al knows the best ..

well ..double check or triple check makes very little difference ., when I carefully checked order of revelation from different sources., ..western authors, Sunni sources and shia sources ., what has been in the table of above post appears to be what the Quran revelation order was (OR AT LEAST THEY BELIEVE IN IT)..sowe will take that as first approximation of revelation order and off course as usual Sunni Islam differs from Shia Islam ..

So instead of exploring "Prophet Muhammad's Life from Quran" I am stuck with reading 900 pages of Quran from Shia source (ALLEGED) and comparing with Sunni Quran which is all over the web ., My problem is with alleged revelation order of Quran and why there are differences between sunni sources and Shia sources ...

well let make this as last post on that shia/sunni revelation order by a reading whole chapter from Quran by Sunni source as well as shia source . Chapter 66 of the book surah At-Tahrim with just 12 verses is a classic case to do that .

So that Surah-66 At-Tahrim with 12 verses is surah-107 in the revelation order from Sunni sources , where as it is surah-99 in the revelation order from shia sources., Both sources have only 12 verses and published Quran book from both sources puts it as surah-66..

66. Surat At-Tahrim

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

1). O Prophet! why do you forbid (yourself) that which Allah has made lawful for you; you seek to please your wives; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

O Prophet! Why do you prohibit [yourself] what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful

2). Allah indeed has sanctioned for you the expiation of your oaths and Allah is your Protector, and He is the Knowing the Wise.

Allah has certainly made lawful for you the dissolution of your oaths, and Allah is your master and He is the All-knowing, the All-wise.

3). And when the prophet secretly communicated a piece of information to one of his wives-- but when she informed (others) of it, and Allah made him to know it, he made known part of it and avoided part; so when he informed her of it, she said: Who informed you of this? He said: The Knowing, the one Aware, informed me.

When the Prophet confided to one of his wives a matter, but when she divulged it, and Allah apprised him about it, he announced [to her] part of it and disregarded part of it. So when he told her about it, she said, ‘Who informed you about it?’ He said, ‘The All-knowing and the All-aware informed me.

4). If you both turn to Allah, then indeed your hearts are already inclined (to this); and if you back up each other against him, then surely Allah it is Who is his Guardian, and Jibreel and -the believers that do good, and the angels after that are the aiders.
’
If the two of you repent to Allah for your hearts have certainly swerved, and if you back each other against him, then [know that] Allah is indeed his guardian, and Gabriel, the righteous among the faithful, and, thereafter, the angels are his supporters.

5). Maybe, his Lord, if he divorce you, will give him in your place wives better than you, submissive, faithful, obedient, penitent, adorers, fasters, widows and virgins.

It may be that if he divorces you his Lord will give him, instead, wives better than you: muslim, faithful, obedient, penitent, devout and given to fasting, virgins and non-virgins.

6). O you who believe! save yourselves and your families from a fire whose fuel is men and stones; over it are angels stern and strong, they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them, and do as they are commanded.

O you who have faith! Save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [assigned] angels, severe and mighty, who do not disobey whatever Allah has commanded them, and carry out what they are commanded.

7). O you who disbelieve! do not urge excuses today; you shall be rewarded only according to what you did.

O faithless ones! Do not make any excuses today. You are only being requited for what you used to do.’

8 ) . O you who believe! turn to Allah a sincere turning; maybe your Lord will remove from you your evil and cause you to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, on the day on which Allah will not abase the Prophet and those who believe with him; their light shall run on before them and on their right hands; they shall say: Our Lord! make perfect for us our light, and grant us protection, surely Thou hast power over all things.

O you who have faith! Repent to Allah with sincere repentance! Maybe your Lord will absolve you of your misdeeds and admit you into gardens with streams running in them, on the day when Allah will not let the Prophet down and the faithful who are with him. Their light will move swiftly before them and on their right. They will say, ‘Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us! Indeed You have power over all things.’

9). O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and be hard against them; and their abode is hell; and evil is the resort.

O Prophet! Wage jih¡d against the faithless and the hypocrites, and be severe with them. Their refuge shall be hell, and it is an evil destination.

10). Allah sets forth an example to those who disbelieve the wife of Nuh and the wife of Lut: they were both under two of Our righteous servants, but they acted treacherously towards them so they availed them naught against Allah, and it was said: Enter both the fire with those who enter.

well that surah-66 from both sources., Sunni source in bold and shia Quran in italics., but I see not much difference between the two translations .. what a surah .,

look at that first verse., 066.001 : O Prophet! Why holdest thou to be forbidden that which Allah has made lawful to thee? Thou seekest to please thy consorts. But Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

what nonsense is that ?? This is such a scandalous surah that alleged prophet of Islam gets out of his mouth., it is clear that it is to support prophet's lust and multiple marriages., It appears Allah/God/ Supreme/Super force that controls everything and anything in the universe has nothing to do but look after Mr. Pbuh and his sex life., No doubt many of of such verses / alleged revelations are not for humanity but for prophet of Islam. These things should have been thrown out of Quran long time ago. 64. "Lead to destruction those whom thou canst among them, with thy (seductive) voice; make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy infantry; mutually share with them wealth and children; and make promises to them." But Satan promises them nothing but deceit.

65. "As for My servants, no authority shalt thou have over them:" Enough is thy Lord for a Disposer of affairs.

66. Your Lord is He That maketh the Ship go smoothly for you through the sea, in order that ye may seek of his Bounty. For he is unto you most Merciful.

67. When distress seizes you at sea, those that ye call upon - besides Himself - leave you in the lurch! but when He brings you back safe to land, ye turn away (from Him). Most ungrateful is man!

68. Do ye then feel secure that He will not cause you to be swallowed up beneath the earth when ye are on land, or that He will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones) so that ye shall find no one to carry out your affairs for you?

69. Or do ye feel secure that He will not send you back a second time to sea and send against you a heavy gale to drown you because of your ingratitude, so that ye find no helper. Therein against Us?

70. We have honoured the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of our creation.

71. One day We shall call together all human beings with their (respective) Imams: those who are given their record in their right hand will read it (with pleasure), and they will not be dealt with unjustly in the least.

72. But those who were blind in this world, will be blind in the hereafter, and most astray from the Path.

73. And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in our name something quite different; (in that case), behold! they would certainly have made thee (their) friend!

74. And had We not given thee strength, thou wouldst nearly have inclined to them a little.

75. In that case We should have made thee taste an equal portion (of punishment) in this life, and an equal portion in death: and moreover thou wouldst have found none to help thee against Us!

76. Their purpose was to scare thee off the land, in order to expel thee; but in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after thee, except for a little while.

77. (This was Our) way with the apostles We sent before thee: thou wilt find no change in Our ways.

78. Establish regular prayers - at the sun's decline till the darkness of the night, and the morning prayer and reading: for the prayer and reading in the morning carry their testimony.

79. And pray in the small watches of the morning: (it would be) an additional prayer (or spiritual profit) for thee: soon will thy Lord raise thee to a Station of Praise and Glory!

80. Say: "O my Lord! Let my entry be by the Gate of Truth and Honour, and likewise my exit by the Gate of Truth and Honour; and grant me from Thy Presence an authority to aid (me)."

81. And say: "Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish."

82. We send down (stage by stage) in the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss.

83. Yet when We bestow Our favours on man, he turns away and becomes remote on his side (instead of coming to Us), and when evil seizes him he gives himself up to despair!

84. Say: "Everyone acts according to his own disposition: But your Lord knows best who it is that is best guided on the Way."

85. They ask thee concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say: "The Spirit (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)"

86. If it were Our Will, We could take away that which We have sent thee by inspiration:then wouldst thou find none to plead thy affair in that matter as against Us,-

87. Except for Mercy from thy Lord: for his bounty is to thee (indeed) great.

88. Say: "If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support.

89. And We have explained to man, in this Qur'an, every kind of similitude: yet the greater part of men refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude!

90. They say: "We shall not believe in thee, until thou cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth,

91. "Or (until) thou have a garden of date trees and vines, and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst, carrying abundant water;

92. "Or thou cause the sky to fall in pieces, as thou sayest (will happen), against us; or thou bring Allah and the angels before (us) face to face:

93. "Or thou have a house adorned with gold, or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No, we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say: "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man,- an apostle?"

94. What kept men back from belief when Guidance came to them, was nothing but this: they said, "Has Allah sent a man (like us) to be (His) Messenger."

95. Say, "If there were settled, on earth, angels walking about in peace and quiet, We should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel for an apostle."

96. Say: "Enough is Allah for a witness between me and you: for He is well acquainted with His servants, and He sees (all things).

97. It is he whom Allah guides, that is on true Guidance; but he whom He leaves astray - for such wilt thou find no protector besides Him. On the Day of Judgment We shall gather, them together, prone on their faces, blind, dumb, and deaf: their abode will be Hell: every time it shows abatement, We shall increase from them the fierceness of the Fire.

98. That is their recompense, because they rejected Our signs, and said, "When we are reduced to bones and broken dust, should we really be raised up (to be) a new Creation?"

99. See they not that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, has power to create the like of them (anew)? Only He has decreed a term appointed, of which there is no doubt. But the unjust refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude.

100. Say: "If ye had control of the Treasures of the Mercy of my Lord, behold, ye would keep them back, for fear of spending them: for man is (every) niggardly!"

101. To Moses We did give Nine Clear Sings: As the Children of Israel: when he came to them, Pharaoh said to him: "O Moses! I consider thee, indeed, to have been worked upon by sorcery!

102. Moses said, "Thou knowest well that these things have been sent down by none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth as eye-opening evidence: and I consider thee indeed, O Pharaoh, to be one doomed to destruction!"

103. So he resolved to remove them from the face of the earth: but We did drown him and all who were with him.

104. And We said thereafter to the Children of Israel, "Dwell securely in the land (of promise)": but when the second of the warnings came to pass, We gathered you together in a mingled crowd.

105. We sent down the (Qur'an) in Truth, and in Truth has it descended: and We sent thee but to give Glad Tidings and to warn (sinners).

106. (It is) a Qur'an which We have divided (into parts from time to time), in order that thou mightest recite it to men at intervals: We have revealed it by stages.

107. Say: "Whether ye believe in it or not, it is true that those who were given knowledge beforehand, when it is recited to them, fall down on their faces in humble prostration,

108. "And they say: 'Glory to our Lord! Truly has the promise of our Lord been fulfilled!'"

109. They fall down on their faces in tears, and it increases their (earnest) humility.

110. Say: "Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Neither speak thy Prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between."

111. Say: "Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion: Nor (needs) He any to protect Him from humiliation: yea, magnify Him for His greatness and glory!"

Out 114 chapters of Quran we read 50 chapters through its alleged revelation order without learning anything about Prophet of Islam., Well there is NOTHING IN IT to learn about prophet of Islam ... anyway let us read that chapter 51 . And that Chapter 51 is supposed to Chapter10 of the book with some 109 verses and allegedly revealed in Mecca and its name is "Yunus "

2.   What! is it a wonder to the people that We revealed to a man from among themselves, saying: Warn the people and give good news to those who believe that theirs is a footing of firmness with their Lord. The unbelievers say: This is most surely a manifest enchanter.

3.   Surely your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, and He is firm in power, regulating the affair, there is no intercessor except aher His permission; this is Allah, your Lord, therefore serve Him; will you not then mind?

4.   To Him is your return, of all (of you); the promise of Allah (made) in truth; surely He begins the creation in the first mstance, then He reproduces it, that He may with justice recompense those who believe and do good; and (as for) those who disbelieve, they shall have a drink of hot water and painful punishment because they disbelieved.

5.   He it is Who made the sun a shining brightness and the moon a light, and ordained for it mansions that you might know the computation of years and the reckoning. Allah did not create it but with truth; He makes the signs manifest for a people who

6.   Most surely in the variation of the night and the day, and what Allah has created in the heavens and the earth, there are signs for a people who guard (against evil).

7.   Surely those who do not hope in Our meeting and are pleased with this world's life and are content with it, and those who are heedless of Our communications:

8.   (As for) those, their abode is the fire because of what they earned.

9.   Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, their Lord will guide them by their faith; there shall flOw from beneath them rivers in gardens of bliss.

10.   Their cry in it shall be: Glory to Thee, O Allah! and their greeting in it shall be: Peace; and the last of their cry shall be: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

11.   And if Allah should hasten the evil to men as they desire the hastening on of good, their doom should certainly have been decreed for them; but We leave those alone who hope not for Our meeting in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.

12.   And when affliction touches a man, he calls on Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove his affliction from him, he passes on as though he had never called on Us on account of an affliction that touched him; thus that which they do is made fair-seeming to the extravagant.

13.   And certainly We did destroy generations before you when they were unjust, and their apostles had come to them with clear arguments, and they would not believe; thus do We recompense the guilty people.

14.   Then We made you successors in the land after them so that We may see how you act.

15.   And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who hope not for Our meeting say: Bring a Quran other than this or change it. Say: It does not beseem me that I should change it of myself; I follow naught but what is revealed to me; surely I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the punishment of a mighty day.

16.   Say: If Allah had desired (otherwise) I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have taught it to you; indeed I have lived a lifetime among you before it; do you not then understand?

17.   Who is then more unjust than who forges a lie against Allah or (who) gives the lie to His communications? Surely the guilty shall not be successful.

18.   And they serve beside Allah what can neither harm them nor profit them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah. Say: Do you (presume to) inform Allah of what He knows not in the heavens and the earth? Glory be to Him, and supremely exalted is He above what they set up (with Him).

19.   And people are naught but a single nation, so they disagree; and had not a word already gone forth from your Lord, the matter would have certainly been decided between them in respect of that concerning which they disagree.

20.   And they say: Why is not a sign sent to him from his Lord? Say: The unseen is only for Allah; therefore wait-- surely I too, with you am of those who wait.

21.   And when We make people taste of mercy after an affliction touches them, lo ! they devise plans against Our communication. Say: Allah is quicker to plan; surely Our messengers write down what you plan.

22.   He it is Who makes you travel by land and sea; until when you are in the ships, and they sail on with them in a pleasant breeze, and they rejoice, a violent wind overtakes them and the billows surge in on them from all sides, and they become certain that they are encompassed about, they pray to Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience: If Thou dost deliver us from this, we will most certainly be of the grateful ones.

23.   But when He delivers them, lo! they are unjustly rebellious in the earth. O men! your rebellion is against your own souls-- provision (only) of this world's life-- then to Us shall be your return, so We will inform you of what you did.

24.   The likeness of this world's life is only as water which We send down from the cloud, then the herbage of the earth of which men and cattle eat grows luxuriantly thereby, until when the earth puts on its golden raiment and it becomes garnished, and its people think that they have power over it, Our command comes to it, by night or by day, so We render it as reaped seed; produce, as though it had not been in existence yesterday; thus do We make clear the communications for a people who reflect.

25.   And Allah invites to the abode of peace and guides whom He pleases into the right path.

26.   For those who do good is good (reward) and more (than this); and blackness or ignominy shall not cover their faces; these are the dwellers of the garden; in it they shall abide.

27.   And (as for) those who have earned evil, the punishment of an evil is the like of it, and abasement shall come upon them-- they shall have none to protect them from Allah-- as if their faces had been covered with slices of the dense darkness of night; these are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.

28.   And on the day when We will gather them all together, then We will say to those who associated others (with Allah): Keep where you are, you and your associates; then We shall separate them widely one from another and their associates would say: It was not us that you served:

29.   Therefore Allah is sufficient as a witness between us and you that we were quite unaware of your serving (us)

30.   There shall every soul become acquainted with what it sent before, and they shall be brought back to Allah, their true Patron, and what they devised shall escape from them.

31.   Say: Who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth? Or Who controls the hearing and the sight? And Who brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living? And Who regulates the affairs? Then they will say: Allah. Say then: Will you not then guard (against evil)?

32.   This then is Allah, your true Lord; and what is there after the truth but error; how are you then turned back?

33.   Thus does the word of your Lord prove true against those who transgress that they do not believe.

34.   Say: Is there any one among your associates who can bring into existence the creation in the first instance, then reproduce it? Say: Allah brings the creation into existence, then He reproduces it; how are you then turned away?

35.   Say: Is there any of your associates who guides to the truth? Say: Allah guides to the truth. Is He then Who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed, or he who himself does not go aright unless he is guided? What then is the matter with you; how do you judge?

36.   And most of them do not follow (anything) but conjecture; surely conjecture will not avail aught against the truth; surely Allah is cognizant of what they do.

37.   And this Quran is not such as could be forged by those besides Allah, but it is a verification of that which is before it and a clear explanation of the book, there is no doubt in it, from the Lord of the worlds.

38.   Or do they say: He has forged it? Say: Then bring a chapter like this and invite whom you can besides Allah, if you are truthful.

39.   Nay, they reject that of which they have no comprehensive knowledge, and the final sequel of it has not yet come to them; even thus did those before them reject (the truth); see then what was the end of the unjust.

40.   And of them is he who believes in it, and of them is he who does not believe in it, and your Lord best knows the mischief-makers.

41.   And if they call you a liar, say: My work is for me and your work for you; you are clear of what I do and I am clear of what you do.

42.   And there are those of them who hear you, but can you make the deaf to hear though they will not understand?

43.   And there are those of them who look at you, but can you show the way to the blind though they will not see?

44.   Surely Allah does not do any injustice to men, but men are unjust to themselves.

45.   And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction.

46.   And if We show you something of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die, yet to Us is their return, and Allah is the bearer of witness to what they do.

47.   And every nation had an apostle; so when their apostle came, the matter was decided between them with justice and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.

48.   And they say: When will this threat come about, if you are truthful?

49.   Say: I do not control for myself any harm, or any benefit except what Allah pleases; every nation has a term; when their term comes, they shall not then remain behind for an hour, nor can they go before (their time).

50.   Say: Tell me if His punishment overtakes you by night or by day! what then is there of it that the guilty would hasten on?

51.   And when it comes to pass, will you believe in it? What! now (you believe), and already you wished to have it hastened on.

52.   Then it shall be said to those who were unjust: Taste abiding chastisement; you are not requited except for what you earned.

53.   And they ask you: Is that true? Say: Aye! by my Lord! it is most surely the truth, and you will not escape.

54.   And if every soul that has done injustice had all that is in the earth, it would offer it for ransom, and they will manifest regret when they see the chastisement and the matter shall be decided between them with justice and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.

55.   Now surely Allah's is what is in the heavens and the earth; now surely Allah's promise is true, but most of them do not know.

56.   He gives life and causes death, and to Him you shall be brought back.

57.   O men! there has come to you indeed an admonition from your Lord and a healing for what is in the breasts and a guidance and a mercy for the believers.

58.   Say: In the grace of Allah and in His mercy-- in that they should rejoice; it is better than that which they gather.

59.   Say: Tell me what Allah has sent down for you of sustenance, then you make (a part) of it unlawful and (a part) lawful. Say: Has Allah commanded you, or do you forge a lie against Allah?

60.   And what will be the thought of those who forge lies against Allah on the day of resurrection? Most surely Allah is the Lord of grace towards men, but most of them do not give thanks.

61.   And you are not (engaged) in any affair, nor do you recite concerning it any portion of the Quran, nor do you do any work but We are witnesses over you when you enter into it, and there does not lie concealed from your Lord the weight of an atom in the earth or in the heaven, nor any thing less than that nor greater, but it is in a clear book.

62.   Now surely the friends of Allah-- they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve

63.   Those who believe and guarded (against evil):

64.   They shall have good news in this world's life and in the hereafter; there is no changing the words of Allah; that is the mighty achievement.

65.   And let not their speech grieve you; surely might is wholly Allah's; He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

66.   Now, surely, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is Allah's; and they do not (really) follow any associates, who call on others besides Allah; they do not follow (anything) but conjectures, and they only lie.

67.   He it is Who made for you the night that you might rest in it, and the day giving light; most surely there are signs in it for a people who would hear.

68.   They say: Allah has taken a son (to Himself)! Glory be to Him: He is the Self-sufficient: His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; you have no authority for this; do you say against Allah what you do not know?

69.   Say: Those who forge a lie against Allah shall not be successful.

70.   (It is only) a provision in this world, then to Us shall be their return; then We shall make them taste severe punishment because they disbelieved.

71.   And recite to them the story of Nuh when he said to his people: O my people! if my stay and my reminding (you) by the communications of Allah is hard on you-- yet on Allah do I rely-- then resolve upon your affair and (gather) your associates, then let not your affair remain dubious to you, then have it executed against me and give me no respite:

72.   But if you turn back, I did not ask for any reward from you; my reward is only with Allah, and I am commanded that I should be of those who submit.

73.   But they rejected him, so We delivered him and those with him in the ark, and We made them rulers and drowned those who rejected Our communications; see then what was the end of the (people) warned.

74.   Then did We raise up after him apostles to their people, so they came to them with clear arguments, but they would not believe in what they had rejected before; thus it is that We set seals upon the hearts of those who exceed the limits.

75.   Then did We send up after them Musa and Haroun to Firon and his chiefs with Our signs, but they showed pride and they were a guilty people.

76.   So when the truth came to them from Us they said: This is most surely clear enchantment!

77.   Musa said: Do you say (this) of the truth when it has come to you? Is it magic? And the magicians are not successful.

78.   They said: Have you come to us to turn us away from what we found our fathers upon, and (that) greatness in the land should be for you two? And we are not going to believe in you.

79.   And Firon said: Bring to me every skillful magician.

80.   And when the magicians came, Musa said to them: Cast down what you have to cast.

81.   So when they cast down, Musa said to them: What you have brought is deception; surely Allah will make it naught; surely Allah does not make the work of mischief-makers to thrive.

82.   And Allah will show the truth to be the truth by His words, though the guilty may be averse (to it).

83.   But none believed in Musa except the offspring of his people, on account of the fear of Firon and their chiefs, lest he should persecute them; and most surely Firon was lofty in the land; and most surely he was of the extravagant.

84.   And Musa said: O my people! if you believe in Allah, then rely on Him (alone) if you submit (to Allah).

85.   So they said: On Allah we rely: O our Lord! make us not subject to the persecution of the unjust people:

86.   And do Thou deliver us by Thy mercy from the unbelieving people.

87.   And We revealed to Musa and his brother, saying: Take for your people houses to abide in Egypt and make your houses places of worship and keep up prayer and give good news to the believers.

88.   And Musa said: Our Lord! surely Thou hast given to Firon and his chiefs finery and riches in this world's life, to this end, our Lord, that they lead (people) astray from Thy way: Our Lord! destroy their riches and harden their hearts so that they believe not until they see the painful punishment.

89.   He said: The prayer of you both has indeed been accepted, therefore continue in the right way and do not follow the path of those who do not know.

90.   And We made the children of Israel to pass through the sea, then Firon and his hosts followed them for oppression and tyranny; until when drowning overtook him, he said: I believe that there is no god but He in Whom the children of Israel believe and I am of those who submit.

91.   What! now! and indeed you disobeyed before and you were of the mischief-makers.

92.   But We will this day deliver you with your body that you may be a sign to those after you, and most surely the majority of the people are heedless to Our communications.

93.   And certainly We lodged the children of Israel in a goodly abode and We provided them with good things; but they did not disagree until the knowledge had come to them; surely your Lord will judge between them on the resurrection day concerning that in which they disagreed.

94.   But if you are in doubt as to what We have revealed to you, ask those who read the Book before you; certainly the truth has come to you from your Lord, therefore you should not be of the disputers.

95.   And you should not be of those who reject the communications of Allah, (for) then you should be one of the losers.

96.   Surely those against whom the word of your Lord has proved true will not believe,

97.   Though every sign should come to them, until they witness the painful chastisement.

98.   And wherefore was there not a town which should believe so that their belief should have profited them but the people of Yunus? When they believed, We removed from them the chastisement of disgrace in this world's life and We gave them provision till a time.

99.   And if your Lord had pleased, surely all those who are in the earth would have believed, all of them; will you then force men till they become believers?

100.   And it is not for a soul to believe except by Allah's permission; and He casts uncleanness on those who will not understand.

101.   Say: Consider what is it that is in the heavens and the earth; and signs and warners do not avail a people who would not believe.

102.   What do they wait for then but the like of the days of those who passed away before them? Say: Wait then; surely I too am with you of those who wait.

103.   Then We deliver Our apostles and those who believe-- even so (now), it is binding on Us (that) We deliver the believers.

104.   Say: O people! if you are in doubt as to my religion, then (know that) I do not serve those whom you serve besides Allah but I do serve Allah, Who will cause you to die, and I am commanded that I should be of the believers.

105.   And that you should keep your course towards the religion uprightly; and you should not be of the polytheists.

106.   And do not call besides Allah on that which can neither benefit you nor harm you, for if you do then surely you will in that case be of the unjust.

107.   And if Allah should afflict you with harm, then there is none to remove it but He; and if He intends good to you there is none to repel His grace; He brings it to whom He pleases of His servants; and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

108.   Say: O people! indeed there has come to you the truth from your Lord, therefore whoever goes aright, he goes aright only for the good of his own soul, and whoever goes astray, he goes astray only to the detriment of it, and I am not a custodian over you.

109.   And follow what is revealed to you and be patient till Allah should give judgment, and He is the best of the judges.

well that is whole chapter all 109 verses of it., Let me read it again to find wisdom and to find history of early Islam from those verses ..
