I don't look up to anyone. My ideas are my own, I am myself because thats who I am and I do what I do because I do it.
I would rather work towards being a person that others look up to.
Whether consciously or subconsciously, you probably do look up to people or have a fondness for certain people. The views you have formed have no doubt been formed through learning from others, and there is no shame in admitting that you have learned from those that inspire you. It is great that you want to work towards being someone that others look up to, but most influential people have their own rolemodels and inspirations, from Prime Ministers to celebrities.
+1! I don't look up to anybody, because then i would have the right to look down on other people. As people we are equal I think, the only way to prevent quarrels and wars.
Uhm no, you can choose to look up to someone that inspires you, but that does not mean you are required to look down on somebody else. That's silly. I believe all human beings are equal, but we are judged by our values and ideas, and our own thoughts. Thoughts are open to scrutiny, and there is nothing wrong with being inspired by those who have values / beliefs / thoughts that either encourage you to learn or look at life more openly.
I think having a rolemodel or someone to look up to is the highest indication that you're willing to learn. I look up to people here, and have learned a great deal from people here. That doesn't mean I'm not equal or that I look down on other people, it means that I acknowledge the importance of learning from other people, and I would never
only look to myself to learn more, because I would learn very little then. Everything I understand about life came from someone else who may have been inspired by someone else. It's quite restrictive to look to yourself and only yourself.
