If I decide to have kids one day I would be considering one of the following names:

    Boy Names:

Leonder - Born in a Dream
    Besian - Faith or Faithful
    Ardit - Golden Day
Dardan - Ancient Thraco Illyrian tribe associated with modern day Kosova Albanians
    Edon - Related to Love
    Egzon - Related to Happiness
Ilir - Ilir is the Albanian version of Illyrian, Paleo Balkan Tribes, my ancestors, the name in Albanian means Free or in some northern dialects Star.
    Jeton - Life
    Leotrim - Born Brave
    Valdet - Sea Wave
Taulant - One of the biggest Illyrian Tribes that lived in Modern day Albania
Alban - a north Albanian Illyrian tribe that lived in Albania, it is the Latinised version of Arban.
    Arban - look above
    Girl Names:

Ardiana - related to Golden Day
Aferdita - possible Aphrodite, Greek Origin
    Besa - Faith
    Besiana - Related to Faithful
    Bora - Snow
    Sihana - Like the Moon
Donieta - Life Lover, can't really translate it properly.
Genta - the feminized version of the name of King Gentius, Illyrian King
    Jehona - Echo
Kaltrina - Related to the Blue Color
    Rezarta - Golden Ray
    Zamira - Good Voice
Yllka - a diminutive name for a star.

All these names are Albanian names with specific meaning, except one of them.

So I've been thinking about this for a bit.

I'm a horribly boring person and don't want to give my children names they would get teased about in school. Ideally I would like to pick names that could work in both cultures their parents are from (Finnish and North African). That's easy enough for a girl as there are lots of common names in both cultures/languages. Examples:

Leila/Laila (that was my first pick even before I got together with a Finn, for very specific reasons)
Nora (it's a bit old, but I like it)
    Mari/Maria
    Hanna
    Maia
    Sanna
    Lilia

But for boys all I could come up with is Sami, Rami and Elias, and both are pretty boring. So I'm thinking of just going past my limitations, but I haven't come up with anything for now. I guess I still have time to decide. Plus for all I know, either I'm not going to have a boy, or I'm not even going to have kids.

    Girl’s name: Martha
    Boy’s name: Sparta.

“Hi! These are my kids. This is Martha. And this… is… SPARTA!” Grin

Fear not, I'm as boring as you.

My (hypothetical) kids will grow up Japanese with a gaijin surname. So a Japanese first name that makes sense in the wider world would seem a good idea. All I can think of so far is Yukiko, which can mean Snow Child and shortens nicely to Yuki. And for a boy Takashi/Taka.

Sturm, I'm not sure that Egzon is the greatest idea if your son is ever to leave Illyro-Thracia.

David I love those names! Would definetly consider them for my future son or daughter.

I also love the names Kyohei (boy) and Hikaru(girl) both japanese names I've recently fell in love with ^_^

Japanese. Well, it derives from the same source as Hikari. Hikaru itself means ‘shining’ or ‘to shine’. As in ‘a light did shine on Hika Rue’ Wink.
