    I don't mind Ramadan actually.
I like how the family gathers together at the end of the day and just chill together.
And how sometimes the whole family stays up until fajr having a jolly old time.

I'm going do fast despite the fact that my whole family knows about my apostasy.
Its not a big deal and its also a show of respect to my parents I guess.

And Ramadan is more of a cultural thing than a religious thing to me now, so I'm just doing it for the heck of it.

Yeah, that's nice, but then you have the 2 hour long taraweeh prayers. Sometimes 3 hours if that one fucking imam with the speech impediment decides to lead the prayers. Then you have the Qur'an and Du'aa reading at home after breaking the fast and after coming back from taraweeh. That can last between 1-2 hours depending on how many times my mum breaks into tears. Then you sleep for only a few hours before waking up for Suhoor and then Fajr, and you're expected to go back to sleep like nothing ever happened. Then wake up and go about your life with an empty stomach. And keep doing that for A WHOLE FUCKING MONTH.
Is it just me or does everyone have to go through this bullshit?

&& I KNOW my mom is gonna ask me to come with taraweeh with her even though she knows i'm an apostate.
Its cuz me and her used to go together EVERY YEAR!
It was how me and her connected ii guess.

I don't mind Ramadan either! And iftar? Who wouldn't like it? But I've got some problems with it too.

    1) Muslim states and societies imposing restrictions on public even when they're NOT Muslims
    2) Calling and signing loud in the middle of the night by local madrassa volunteers during Sehri!
    3) Not being able to say you're NOT fasting
    4) Watching some people becoming super religious just for one month and acting all self-righteous
    5) Female TV hosts suddenly covering their heads with saree/scarves (in Bangladesh, pretty sure also common in Pakistan and other places)
    6) putting a stop to all regular TV programs during Magrib time for hours
    7) making road-side eateries shutdown while allowing all the 5-star hotels and restaurants to remain open: bottom line poor day laborers HAVE TO fast while the rich could opt out if they choose to

Ramadan: good if you are not forced to perform it
                     hell otherwise!!

    I'm that happy medium....yeah

I hate that people get smelly breath during ramadhan for not eating and they don't even care....it's gross and anti-social to purposefully do that.

Some people don't have the decency to brush their tongue just in case they swallow the tooth paste /facepalm , stay away from those types of people trust me :(

Same here nora, not looking forward to it. But  I have concocted a plan: Don't sleep until after fajr... and stay asleep till 4 PM. Only 4 hours of fasting. Not too bad. Its that time of the year where I transform into an owl  cool2

I think it means don't bend your penis. Generally, that's some good advice, not sure how it links with Ramadan.

I'm going to be keeping all of my fasts because I'm kind of new to this and can't imagine not keeping them. It might have something to do with the fact that I still live with my parents but I see fasts as a great challenge and it's a great way to lose weight!

Lol. My sister told me she would pay me 5 dollars each day i only ate dates and drank milk. I told her could i just drink milk? i hate dates. my body is repulsed by them. I hated them when i was muslim.

How can something thats perfect make me so sick?

I won't risk 2012 chances by fasting, says Muslim rower Mo Sbihi

So as usual, he's gonna achieve his sporting success despite Islam, not because of Islam, just like the Muslim cricket players, boxers, football players etc.

Then when they retire and have nothing else to do with their lives they'll grow a beard and preach Islam on the back of their sporting success from yesteryear (that they achieved despite Islam).
