I am moving there for a year on August 9th to study social science and I'm so excited, I just wanted to get an idea of what Sweden is like either from Swedes on the forums or people who have visited because I know we've got a lot of Europeans here.
Just anything about Sweden, because I have so many things to think about. Is the language hard? I really want to learn the language, and as I am living with Swedes I feel it is a responsibility if I want to meet Swedish people. Although, I guess most of them will speak great English anyway?
I judge that from this picture here, they must be very tolerant people?: (The main reason I chose Sweden is because of how liberal I've heard they are).

I'll be living in Gothenburg / Göteborg, has anyone been there?

What is the weather like in August? And I hope to do some traveling, Copenhagen seems to be pretty close to Gothenburg so is transport fairly easy?
Actually, derailing the topic a little bit, but being from Australia I would really like to do a bit of traveling in Europe. Where would you guys recommend? I'd like to see the Greek islands.

Having a year to travel Europe, I'd like to cross some places off the map and I think some of you must be well-traveled.

Tack så mycket.
