Isn't it illegal to catch parrots from the wild?
  • Re: Post your pets...

Yes indeed.  All my parrots were hand-reared and hatched and wouldn't know what a jungle was if it hit them in the face, they probably wouldn't last a day in the wild.

They are all in very large aviary/cages and come out every day and have plenty interaction.  Besides.....  they don't have trollies with junk-food in the jungle....

Actually if you take your parrots and put them in their natural habitat with a flock the same species then their natural instincts will take over and they will survive EVEN if they were raised domestically.

In my opinion a life without curiosity is not a life worth living

I mean even if you buy them from the pet store it's cruel.

What I'm saying is that we should take all the exotic and wild animals out from the pet shops and release them back into their natural habitat. They will live a much more fulfilling life in their natural environment

I used to have one just like him named James. He'd imitate the sewing machine and the sound of the telephone, cute but it got rather annoying sometimes xD

This is what I want for a pet:

    Isn't he gorgeous 001_wub

I really want a Savannah cat one day

They are a cross-breed between Servals and domestic cats. They're very large cats, very friendly, and are meant to have the same kind of loyalty as dogs. You can also teach them to play fetch! A dog and cat all in one cool2

Huskies are probably really good dogs but due to their high energy they require an experienced owner.  If you haven't owned a dog before try starting with something more tame like Goldens, labs or greyhounds.

And NEVER  get a dog from the pet store or unlicensed breeders because they often have genetic defects and you will be supporting people who keep dogs in horrible living conditions.

Make sure the breeder you get it from is registered/licensed with the American Kennel Club or similiar organization.

I haven't owned a dog but i read up on them on the internet so i can get one when I move out.
