Dont get me wrong, i still believe Arsenal team are good enough to challenge title, slip for a month or two then resurge back to form and qualify for UCL Third qualifying round or Group Stage.

Here's to hoping this site becomes a novelty - http://hasrobinvanpersiescoredformanutd.com/

Also woohoo, Arsenal is selling Song, most over rated player of the squad IMO. Lost possession way too much.

^ Overrated? lol my friend is a huge arsenal fan and he's been bitching about it for two days. he's like "arsenal keeps letting go of all their good players"

    ^ My point exactly. Overrated.

He sucked at his defensive role. Sure he did a few killer passes which looked even better with Van Persie on the end of them but he was giving away possession way too much. As defensive midfielder that's just unacceptable. I'd much rather see Francis Coquelin play in defensive midfield, he showed a lot of promise last season.

Liverpoo kick off with a defeat Ha ha result.

Heard something aboit Wenger today - basically a list of players he has bought, about ten, twelve of them including, Henry, nasri, RvP, Anelka, Petit, Vista et al - cost 42 million. Sold - well over 200 million pounds!!

To me he would be a great slave master of the past, they would come off the boats and wenger would have best spotted the talent.

Though do wish he would spend like the top 3, buy players at 20,30 million plus. Then we would see how good he really is.

I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D

If i were Wenger, i would flog Walcott elsewhere and buy a world class anchorman that can tackle and play, just someone in the mould of Viera or Essien. With that,Arsenal may have a good chance of winning a silverware

Yeah Wenger makes great money developing talented youths. The trouble is Arsenal has become a feeder club. One level down from the likes of Man City and Chelsea. Unless the wage system changes or the rules of the game change (FFP perhaps) most players will always be attracted to higher wages and move on for glory. Sure there are some dedicated players in the Arsenal squad who genuinely love the club but you only need to look at Van Persie to know that money is king in football. I think there's even a correlation between player wages and finishing positions in the premier league.

No doubt we're in need of good enforcer, Arsenals defense looked shaky last season. I'm in two minds on Walcott, sometimes he shows brilliance and then sometimes he makes the most frustrating decisions. I think if he fails to improve on his last season (Which wasn't bad at all) he should be sold. He's a good player and has potential to be a great one but he needs to up his consistency and impact on games.

    Excellent signings.

It's funny how a number-cruncher like Levy can see the importance of a good midfield, while the World's Greatest Manager™ thinks Man United can get by without.

Those are two players who would have done wonders for United. Just what they need.

Dembele's not a Wenger type player. Too direct, aggressive and, er, effective.
  • Re: The English Premier League thread
     Reply #378 - August 31, 2012, 04:44 PM

Not sure if "effective" is a word to describe him actually, as his end-product is quite poor. But still a good player nonetheless.

Awful transfer window for the Toooooooooooon. Fuck off Ashley, you fat, cockny bastard.

You are right of course, but was I going to let the truth get in the way of a dig at Wenger's love of pretty, inneffectual football? No sirree.

Spurs didn't get Moutinho in the end. Still not a bad transfer window for them.
