@hassan: i don't blame you for saying that but is that really a generalization? i mean last time i checked there were thousands of muslims on european streets threatening murder while millions were keeping quiet and tacitly approving them
i personally feel more muslims are extremists than not-extremists... i dont know why people think otherwise.. it is so obvious when you go to any muslim forum, they are filled with rage...
a muslim that threatens violence over cartoons is not criticized by fellow muslims (mostly)
Here's the problem-- you can't back up any of these claims with hard data and solid methodology. You cannot consider a protest of religious militants to be a representative sample of the religion's adherents as a whole, nor can you possibly know how many Muslims are critical of the militants, openly or otherwise-- you can only guess.
But, if you do like most people here, and criticize the religion rather than making assumptions about all of its adherents, you don't run into this problem-- there is hard evidence that Islam is superstition, and that it has many nasty, immoral and destructive elements. One can back this up quite easily by pointing to the Quran and hadith itself-- no need for assumptions, generalizations, or guesswork.
The only reliable way to judge Muslims themselves is to judge what each individual Muslim believes and practices, not draw sweeping generalizations from unscientific observations of what some Muslims do-- that just opens the door for unethical discrimination against people cause they happened to be raised in a family that believes in one superstition over the others out there.
I don't trust this guy called exMuslimNfree..

Perhaps you might feel more at home at FFI et al.
I take it he's already familiar with FFI given he's quoted Ali Sina-- let's talk with him here before telling him to fuck off elsewhere, shall we? He may be open to reason, but has unfortunately had the experience of dealing with FFI folks instead of rational ex-Muslims and secular critics of Islam-- it's an opportunity to expose him to a different perspective on the topic.
i find too many muslims are extremists
As does everyone here.
that's all..
No, that's not all.
i also think that we r lying to ourselves if we think most muslims are peace-loving...
How about refraining from ANY assumptions since there is no conclusive evidence that most Muslims believe or practice what the militants of Islam believe and practice?
