It's okay. What's your take on it?

    On the la-la land.

She had a haemorrhage on the left side of her brain... bit harsh to criticise her for not being perfectly logical. Tongue

I've had expansive experiences whilst doing dhikr and meditation, it seemed to explain many experiences I've had. I'm going to look more into neurology now.

Was it similar to the Suffi who-who-who? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyav8i07hxg)
I'm told, people in zikr circles could lose consciousness and experience something akin to standing completely outside oneself. That's the literal meaning of the Greek word 'ecstasy' or the buddist concept of nirvana, as she call names. The first time I've been fetched by neurology was when I read Saturday by Ian Mcewan.

Note: the personal masculine and singular pronoun, pronounced  /who + a/ with an aspirated consonant, in Arabic means him and he. The chanters in the above video are referring to prophet, in a barking manner.

Yeah we used to chat Hu, it was referring to Allah.

No one ever passed out in the Sufi circles that I was present at, and it was quite a few. Nor had I heard any sufis tell that to me. Where did you hear that?

I used to do this kind of stuff, I actually miss it...

My grandmother told me a few weeks before she died. She had herself passed out from what she called (khoso'a) and said it was common amongst her Tijaniyyah circle. Even though she did not speak Arabic, she memorised Qaṣida al-Burda andSalat al-Fatih. It was she who said that the Hu does reffer to the prophet too.

Hey Whabbist have you read this experience of Sufism from Hassan?

    http://abooali.wordpress.com/chapter-3/

Hassan if you're reading this that was a great chapter. It mirrors my thoughts on Sufism now. The Shaykh was presented as a surrogate parent with divine authority, and I actually did Kiss the hands and feet of a Shaykh.

Towards the end of my life as a muslim I became annoyed with myslef that I venerated another human being to that degree, and I questioned how humble can someone really be (as is proclaimed by followers) if they allow other human beings to kiss their hands, and treat their every word as truth.

I was involved with the Naqshbandi Haqqani Tariqat intially, but then 'checked out' other tariqats. I found it funny that every Tariqat considered their head Shaykh to be the Sultan of awliya - every one I came across. I'm even talking to a family member who converted, who told me the same thing about his Shaykh.Roll Eyes
