Don't you find it funny when people leave Islam and have super islamic names
Like Naik, Namazie, Sharif, Islam, etc
I hate sometimes having a muslim name cos every time I introduce myself people assume I'm muslim, then they make comments or ask questions etc and I respond simply 'I'm not muslim'
This results in confused and idiotic looks and statements like 'but you have to be, your parents are!'- I've got this from white people, not muslims! I can't believe how thick so many people are! Thinking of changing my name...
My son has a very long, very Islamic sounding name and he gets this all the time from non-Muslims too. They seem to think that because of his name he has to be Muslim and couldn't possibly not be.
Yet when we travel to my husband's home all the Muslims ask him if he really is a Muslim. They ask him does he drink, does he pray etc etc. Sadly he feels if he answers truthfully, those people won't like him anymore

and he wants to be liked because actually he quite likes them. Fortunately this is only a problem for him for as long as we are there.
Nobody ever asks me if I am a Muslim though. Not sure why

Perhaps they don't dare.
