I spent my childhood moving around a lot from country to country (9 in total). The longest I've lived in one country was 4-5 years. When I was younger I HATED it. It was really frustrating how I was just expected to leave everything behind and start a new life somewhere else. You'd have to get used to the new weather, a new language, get used to a new neighbourhood, the school, make new friends etc
Sometimes I liked it either because I hated the school/people or the country and I thought it gave me a fresh start somewhere else. Most of the time though it was horrible. It takes a while for me to get to know people so by the time I properly started making friends I always had to move. So i just ended up having a lot of friends but I wasn't really close to anyone.
Now though, I'm actually glad my parents were that fucking nomadic. In retrospect all my previous problems and complaints about moving seem so trivial in comparison with what I've gained from the experience. I know people from all over the world and it's always nice meeting them during the summer when I travel somewhere or bumping into them (which does happen A LOT btw). It taught me a lot about different countries, cultures and most importantly I can swear in many different languages

I think it made me a lot more open minded and tolerant as well.
I actually can't imagine myself staying in one place for too long because of it.
What do you think is better if one is raising children?
Moving every year or year and half is hard and frustrating. But staying in one place just seems so boring. There's a big world out there that they're gonna be missing out on :/
