Tell me, Gladfly, which branch of science should help you vote for one party over another and which branch of science helps you find the answer to the question of how much of your freedoms are OK to sacrifice for security?

I agree. Hamza Tzortis can tell me why shariah is the only cohesive political model after exhausting naturalistic causes and inter and intra textual analysis of the Quran.

William Lane Craig could also advise me on how to discover an objective ontological foundation for my political epistemology by accepting the rational premise that an omnipotent deity committed suicide to save mankind from the same hell that it created.

I was also amazed to discover that inductive reasoning can explain Quantum Mechanics, as both Hamza and Dr Craig have shown decisively via the Kalam cosmological argument.

Neither of them are philosophers, more like nutjobs.

I love how everyone we disagree with we dismiss as not a philosopher.

We could just call them bad philosophers I guess

    Ambiguous undulations as they sink,
Downward to darkness, on extended wings. - Stevens

    "It's just philosophy"

On a serious note, that's what my mom always does. Whenever we discuss ANYTHING remotely related to religion, be it science, religion itself, religious laws, whatever, and I mention a counter-argument that is in the slightest complex, she says "Now you're just philosophizing (titfalsif, as we Arabs say). I don't accept philosophy."

What do you say to that! "It's not philosophy"? You try to explain why it isn't, and she hits you with that line again.

    Fuckin' 'ell!

know we can go  extinct and die

"A belief in hell and the knowledge that every ambition is doomed to frustration at the hands of a skeleton have never prevented the majority of human beings from behaving as though death were no more than an unfounded rumour."
