Homeland - Season 1: Rather classic CIA-fighting-terrorism plot but it was pretty well-made and the acting was great. Next season should be really interesting (not sure what they're going to take it next).

This is fantastic. Claire Danes would be oscar nominated if it was a movie. I didn't even realise she had those kind of acting chops. Where's she been hiding?

I just started catching up with Spartacus: Vengeance. Wathed the first three episodes and I'm happyyyyyyyyyyy. Here are my comment:

    - New dude, while nowhere near as pretty as Andy Whitfield, really works. His voice is kinda annoying but I like him.

This is pretty much a dealbreaker for me. The new guy just doesn't have the burning intensity and chiselled masculinity of Andy Whitfield, RIP. Spartacus has also shrunk 1 foot, dropped about 50 lbs of honed muscle, lost his acrobatic fighting form and seems to have reverse-aged back into a teenage boy. Plus it makes me sad that a great young actor is gone for good.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

The season finale is awesome by the way.  I won't spoil it for you but I can tell you, you won't fucking see it coming........unless you had the misfortune of knowing it already.  I hope you don't.  That OMG moment was epic for me.

I confess I have but vague knowledge of the Third Servile War, and I haven't watched the movie Spartacus, so yes, I probably won't fucking see it coming  dance

Fourth episode: That Roman dude Ilythia has been lusting after since the beginning of the season has just asked her to divorce Glaber so he'll marry her. Yes, yes. This will totally end well. Do it, Ilythia!  dance

Yeah, she's really great. Especially at the end of the 11 episode. Deserves every praise she can get. Who would've thought that, watching My So Called Life?  Tongue

The second series of BBC1's Sherlock is fucking dynamite.

Each one is 90 minutes so its basically three movies.

The first and final episode are better that most things you will see at the cinema this year.

    Absolute top quality entertainment.

I can't wait to see Benedict Cumberbatch as the dragon in The Hobbit.

    Watched lately:

    1. Sherlock. The writing is superb and the acting (both Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch) is brilliant. The wait for series 3 next year is torture!

    2. The Walking Dead. Hope it picks up in season 3, season 2 was mediocre.

    3. Earlier seasons of Family Guy.

    4. Avatar: The Legend of Korra! Quality cartoon, much like its predecessor.  grin12

Anybody seen The River ? It's like a low-budget Lost with a 'found footage' format. Like the Blair Amazon Witch Project or something. Cheesy and hammy but kind of addictive.

TV shows I love and watched recently in order of how much I liked them:

    1. Eureka (which is still coming out albeit very slowly) a show that encumbers both Sci-Fi and comedy. Very funny and quirky.

    2. Doctor Who (which is still coming out) a sci-fi obviously

    3. Dexter (which is still coming out) which is about a serial killer (also a blood analyst for the cops) who kills serial killers. As far as I'm concerned Dexter is the perfect boyfriend as he doesn't expect much and would destroy your enemies.

    4. Rome (2 seasons as far as I know) which is a very well-done historical series about Ancient Rome and the bloody-battles and life and deaths of historical figures during the time of Pompei, Julius Caesar and Octavius Caesar. It is rated R+18 for a reason lol, as it is gory and has many strong sexual themes throughout.

    5. Dark Angel (2 seasons) which is a sci-fi I think, about a genetically modified girl who breaks out and goes to war against the company that creates the genetically modified creatures. Was cut short I think due to money problems.

    6. Queer as Folk (6 or 8 seasons I think, get's really expensive the further in you go so I didn't watch any more seasons after no. 4), which is a drama series about the lives of a number of gay and lesbian characters.

    7. True Blood (which is still coming out), which is a dark but highly sexually charged series about vampires and faeries and normal folks.

    8. Around the Twist (a children's series), is an Australian series about some children who live in a lighthouse and have heaps of crazy stuff go on. The song is unforgettable and sometimes I find myself walking through the shops humming to it.

    9. Will and Grace (8 seasons I think), is a series about four friends two of whom are gay males, a comedy which can get fairly tedious at times, especially with the stereotyping of all things queer.

There are others but right now I can't think of the names of them, will put them up when I remember.  Roll Eyes

Queer as Folk has five seasons, Da_Dude. 2000 to 2005, so you're just one season away from finishing it.

OK am really into Breaking Bad now, I am on the 3rd episode of series 3 right now. I whizzed through season one and two, but I am slowing down owning to the fact that I don't want this to finish its so good, I have four seasons and the extras (the extras are stupid I don't know why I downloaded them) Spoiler Alert: that chick Jessi was shagging was hot, (apart from her feet) I don't know why they killed her. Walter is a legend though feign a fugue state lol. I can so relate to Jessy and Walter, I am glad he is divorcing his wife, she is boring I don't see the point of her in the program to be honest, she's a shit actress.

So anyway, I am going to go and download the first half of season 5 too. I might ask a buddy on a website who might actually have full season 5 including 2013 episodes. Wish he has them.

After this I'll be moving onto the series Solara recommended. Some really good American serials, better then crappy British ones, EastEnders and coronation street, I can't even relate to them so crap about living on an estate and drinking in the pub all day.

    Indeed.

Breaking Bad is the shit. I think Gus is one of the best characters there ever was.

Also I'm kinda pissed because, if the next season is going to be the final one, and ok, I get they had to split it since it's 16 episodes, but... why the hell air the second part a whole fucking year after the first part? Idiots.

Anyway, TV shows I'm currently watching:

    - True Blood: What the hell, Berbs, no mention of that?  dance Season five started a few weeks ago and I like. I mean, this is the kind of show that I'd watch without ever stopping to wonder if it's any good. Kinda like Spartacus. <3

    - Scrubs: re-watching the whole thing, and it never gets old.

    - The Bridge (Bron/Broen): Swedish/Danish criminal drama. I started by watching the first half of the pilot and was really put off by it (that Saga Noren chick annoyed me) and left it alone for a few months. And then I picked it up again and it turned out to be pretty great. At least so far (halfway through). It's bizarre at times, but the pacing is good, and the case is really interesting (much more so than Forbrydelsen (The Killing), both seasons)

    - Carnivale: Season one. I heard so much good stuff about this show, but never got around to checking it out. Until now. And it's not at all what I expected it to be. But I really, REALLY like it. Compelling stuff.

    - The Wire: Seasons one and three are absolutely outstanding (didn't really care much for season two). I get the hype, now. I had to stop after season three to take a break because I had a huge case of the sad following the death of my favourite character (those who watched can figure out who I'm talking about). I'll start season four soon.

    - Arrested Development: Almost done with re-watching it. Doesn't get old either.

    ---------------------

    Shows I watched recently:

    - Dexter - Season Six: please make it stop. This is getting pretty embarrassing.
    - 30 Rock - Season Six: Much funnier than the previous two. Sad that the next season will be the last.
    - Parks and Rec - Season Four: Pretty mediocre.

    I think that's about it.

Deadwood - brilliant show, one of my all time favourites now. Amazing writing, good acting and really funny at times. The sexposition scenes were really good, too. And who can forget this scene:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KsU89R1A8M

Battlestar Galactica - decent show, really enjoyed the first 2 seasons but the last two seasons were mediocre bordering on terrible at times.

Right now I'm watching a show called Justified, which has been decent enough so far. Oh and I'm watching True Blood as well, which has to be one of the worst shows of all time. I have no idea why I still watch it.

I just realized that they split it into two parts, with the other half coming out in summer 2013.  Shocked

Oh well, it'll definitely be worth the wait.
