Shows I've watched recently
Homeland - Season 1: Rather classic CIA-fighting-terrorism plot but it was pretty well-made and the acting was great. Next season should be really interesting (not sure what they're going to take it next).
American Horror Story - Season 1: Well that was entertaining! Very cliché and over-the-top, but it had me hooked. The finale wasn't good, though.
Dexter - Season 5: It was alright, I guess. Jonny Lee Miller was great. The whole "Dexter is in love and heartbroken" thing annoys me, though. They really should stop. I'll have to check, but I think they announced next season to be the last?
Downton Abbey - Seasons 1 & 2 + Xmas Special: Aesthetically it is very pretty. But leave you feeling rather empty. Not enough substance to the characters and the plot. Meh.
The Killing - Season 1: My disappointment in this series is immense. What the hell happened? It started out fantastic, great setting, great atmosphere, terrific acting (the actors who played the parents deserve some kind of award), a good pace, but then... red herring after red herring, a significant slowing in the story and the coup de grâce was the absolutely appalling finale. Who thought THAT would be a good idea?
Ugh.
Shows I'm currently watching:
Forbrydelsen (Danish show that The Killing is a remake of) - Series 1: I'm about halfway through and it's more or less the same plot, though the characterization is quite difference, and obviously Copenhagen is pretty different from Seattle. Reviewers are saying that it is superior to the remake and that the ending is handled differently, so I'm hopeful.
Once Upon A Time - Season 1: It's all so silly and cute that I can't help watching. Pretty endearing stuff.
How I Met Your Mother - Season 7 : Despite a pretty terrible fifth season this is a show I just couldn't give up on. More of a family habit since I watch it with my sisters. And this season has been funnier than the previous two so far. Don't really care about who the mother is, at this point
Boardwalk Empire - Season 1: Rewatching it to refresh my memory before starting the second. It's still pretty good. I just wish there were characters that I could really get attached to, besides the Chicago prostitute we see for just a couple of episodes.
Sons of Anarchy - Season 1 : Just four or five episodes in and bleh. I don't get the appeal, unless you're a Harley freak. It's just stupid. Charlie Hunnam works well for sugar candy, though.
Parks and Rec : Midway through third season and it just confirms that NBC has the best comedies around. Ron Swanson <3
