  • A Philosophical Q and A
     OP - September 20, 2011, 12:12 AM

This is last night's episode of Q&A, a regular show on ABC tv over here.

The content isn't earth-shattering, but I found the show interesting anyway. One of the panellists was everyone's favourite YouTuber, Criss.

     Go Criss!

I wasn't even aware that she was in Australia, and was interested to see her speak in a non-YouTube situation. Frankly, she didn't do all that well. Then again, they didn't give her much of a chance as most of the time was hogged by the others.

The other interesting one was Kristina Keneally. She was recently booted out of office, at the last NSW state election, but she spoke really well last night. It prompted someone to send in a tweet saying "Why is it that politicians turn into human beings upon leaving office?"

The ACL dude, Jim Wallace, reminded me of a typical US evangelist. Gerard Henderson didn't get much of a look in. Gaita was pretty good though.

    Anyway, the vid:

Great, now she's got a new stalker.

Gore, Carter, Joe Kennedy-- yeah, but I would think it would be obvious why SOME politicians do better work after retirement than in office-- these are the people who actually went in with lofty ideals and had to play the system's dirty game, and decided to make up for it when they got out. However many more are still scumbags when they get out of office and go work as lobbyists for the corporations they favored while in office and/or as political operatives to get their family and allies in office so they can still be big time players in the game.

    fuck you

Yeah true, but it was interesting seeing Keneally's opinions anyway now that she's out of office. She's still a player in the political scene over here.

Philosophy is such a dirty word to me

    Little Fly, Thy summer's play
My thoughtless hand has brushed away.

I too dance and drink, and sing,
Till some blind hand shall brush my wing.

Therefore I am a happy fly,
If I live or if I die.

Go get killed, Gladfly, because the value of human life is a moral judgment and obviously you don't believe in those.

If you're both hetero then it just means giving each other blow hand jobs is NOT a gay thing. It's only gay if you're gay. Just like how a person can be gay even if they originally got married and had kids with a woman.
