    hi n welcome

ive noticed a pattern with those who leave theism.

its goes theism > deism > agnostic > rationalist

its like deism n agnosticism are positions stated as guilty consolations for leaving theism, until the emotional attachment of believing in a god slowly gets cleansed from your system. For some the complete spiritual detoxification can take a few months, but for others it can take years.

Rationalism =/= atheism. In fact, most famous rationalists were theists.
It's annoying to see certain atheists trying to bluntly replace the term "atheism" with something far more pretentious.

Have you heard the good news? There is no God!

At least rationalist is far superior to that cringeworthy term ‘brights’. wacko

Rationalism sounds very dull to me. And rather stupid.

Even if you could explain everything, would you really want to?

people are entitled to title their beliefs as they wish and atheism is usually used as a pejorative..

I actually went from atheism to deism, I don't know but there's something about deism that fits  with me. Maybe I was never really an atheist. It's a shame deism isn't very well known, It would be a lot popular if it was.

No one is stopping you from calling your theological position "rationalist", never-mind the fact that rationalism (to most people) means something else entirely.

At least rationalist is far superior to that cringeworthy term ‘brights’. wacko

Oh yeah. Gotta love how it implies that theists/deists = dimwits.

Have you heard the good news? There is no God!

Deism is philosophically meaningless. What's the point of believing in a god who doesn't give a crap about you?

    Anyway, welcome.

Deism is the dead lifeless body of Theism.

And like any dead body, it must decompose, and return to nature. Agnosticism.

And after this return to the soil, new life will spring forth with vigour and affirmation. Atheism.

Then you will be free to shape your own destiny, without the need for ghosts and corpses. Smiley

A better word for the Deist God is Grand Architect of the Universe, I like to see him as the creative force of the universe not the ''celestial stalker'' of the abrahamic faiths.

Yes, I know what deism is (I was a deist for a short while), but how is it relevant for anything in our lives? A deist is essentially an atheist in practice.
  • Re: Hello My fellow Ex Muslims

You seldom meet a person who has been deist for more than a few months. It's too weak of a belief to sustain itself, it must either devolve to agnosticism, or build itself to proper theism.

It doesn't have to be, Its one way of looking at the universe.

I don't know about that, I never meet a Deist in person. Maybe  you're right.
