    This reminds me that I got my in-laws (to be) this really nice bottle of Algerian Cabernet Sauvignon last winter as a gift. A few months later I asked my father-in-law if they had it and he said "uhh.. I think we did, over Midsummer". I asked if they liked it and he said "I think so, I don't really remember".

    Speaking of which, what about this wine (Red Infuriator) David mentioned? I couldn't find anything online except an entry in a wine dictionary calling it an "elusive" Algerian wine of Couteau de Tlemcen.

    I think we should stop giving our wines French names, to be honest. Imagine drinking a Dahmane El Harrachi or a Bousaïda A7mar Tongue

    I'm by no means an expert in wines, let alone Algerian wines. I do take a peek at wineshops when I'm in town, but I only see stuff like Merlot, CS, Tlemcen (with no other tag than the name of the city). Never seen that Red Infuriator thing.

    stop fluffing about it and drink something, it doesn't matter as it'll taste like shit anyway

    my first drink was a shot of straight vodka that i was sipping like a pussy.

    also i disagree that being drunk is awful, it only sucks if you can't control how much you drink and how drunk you get. i personally get as drunk as i can without puking and it's not failed me yet(apart from 2 nights ago where i got tricked into a doubleshot of vodka but that's another story).

    also never play drinking games when you have spirits and everyone else has beer. we played a game of i never and i was the cunt with the bottle of jagermeister.

    Want to start wine? Try a French Alsace Pinot gris. Although it is "dry"it tastes nearly sweet.

    Rum punch is nice and here's a little poem to remind you of the recipe

    One of sour
    Two of sweet
    Three of strong
    Four of weak

    The numbers refer to measures and the ingredients are fresh lime juice,  brown sugar (melted in warm water), rum ( Mount Gay or Cockspur) and ice cubes respectively.
    Grate some nutmeg on top and add a few drops of Angostura bitters. Yum. For Planter punch add soda water. Enjoy!

    Had two glasses, and an hour later, still not feeling even tipsy :/

    Take it easy. Listen to music, you'll know its at the right level when the music sounds sweeter. Don't knock it back too much, take it easy first few times, build up your experience.
