    Quarter to a third of a bottle first time out will be plenty.

    I once drank an Algerian wine called Red Infuriator because it got 19th century British sailors fighting drunk (this was not difficult).

    Why not try a nice red Cotes du Rhone?

    I'd say take it slowly as you'll might start feeling the effects after half a glass, I know I do. If you're happy with that then maybe stop there on the first occasion.

    drink a glass about every 15 mins, depends on the % though. Just take it easy, it takes time for it to hit you.

    look at it this way, it takes your liver about an hour to process a unit of alcohol. You need at least 3 - 6 units within an hour to feel anything, since you have to out pace your liver.

    I'd say don't drink if you have a self-destructive/addictive personality. But your profile says you sixteen so you may not know if you have those characteristics.

    It tastes shit (imo). You may grow up to be wine connoisseur, but the poin to having a drink 'the first time' is too see what the buzz is about rather than the 'taste'.

    Go for a light buzz, like suggested by others.

    If I was having my first drink again, (to get tipsy)  cider, usually sweeter and less sickly than beer and lager and mix it with lots Ribena cordial. Tastes sweet and gets you tipsy.

    And if it was spirits/shorts, go for tequila (you dont have to pretend you like the taste, down it in one).

    Also, devilsadvokat, I probably do have that kind of personality. I have a feeling I will grow up to be an alcoholic -- probably a homeless one, too.

    Anyway, this year, I'm not going to drink much, maybe just once, just for the sake of drinking (and feeling tipsy), but once I move to America...

    I don't drink very often, but when I do I'm greedy and don't follow the same advice I'm giving a novice youngster.

    KT - dont you think by now you are psychologically addicted to buying 'white powder' in a wrap from a dodgy bloke in a flash car? Most of the stuff for the last five years is probably chemical of some time with very little coke, unless your paying about 100 quid for a full gram.

    depends, personally I know I am getting about 60% purity and after that it gets cut insanally, and the only reason i can get that is because I sent alot of money of the years and I personally know some dudes who will link me up with some mind blowing shit.

    I recommend shots of tequila chased with Budweiser, followed by periodic rails of coke.
