Western philosophy: Approx. 2600 years with a bunch of Middle-Aged White Men talking about
What is truth? What is knowledge (Epistemology)?.
What is morality (Moral philosophy/ethics) and the boring part:
metaphysics. A group of philosophers involved in pederasty (the Greeks), Christian misogynists (St Augustin, Thomas Aquinas), a bunch of Frenchies (Descartes), two arrogant Germans (Hegel and Kant) and one syphilitic "mad man" (Nietzsche). During his time you had also a prophet named Marx and when you enter the 20th century, only Wittgenstein and the antisemite Heidegger who was dating a Jewish chick named Hannah Arendt had something useful to say.
Eastern philosophy: The rest, but primarily some Chinese and Indian stuff. And some cool Islamic kalam and falsafa.
Or this definition: The mother of
all fields of studies and the only true love of knowledge.
