i've had quite few religionists say this to me

how is this statement fallacious ?

i don't know much about quantam physics/mechanics, but am i correct in saying that it doesn't provide certainty and is based on assumptions?

No it isn't.

If anything, quantum mechanics has been used to argue against the idea of a god. (I actually met the scientist who wrote that article -- fascinating man).

Most people dont....which is why any dipshit can yammer off quantam physics terminology and pretend to prove something without anyone around being able to challenge them. Deepok Chopra has made a whole career out of doing this.
