  • finger prints miracle in quran
     OP - October 13, 2011, 05:45 PM

it is claimed by muslims that quran in surah qayamah verse 4 speaks about finger prints of men and its a miracle because no one knew about finger prints 1400 years ago...... any comments Huh?

I read the verse and it says "fingertips" not "fingerprints" ......

It IS fingertips. It’s in reference to the smallest part of you, hence fingertips. Fingerprints have nothing to do with it. Anyone who claims otherwise is simply twisting their beloved text.

No, it's a reference to allah being able to rebuild right down to the tips of your fingers. Or something like that which invokes a sense of the miniscule.

Yes it is a miracle. Allah wanted to prove to people over a thousand years later by making a vague reference to finger tips - and wanted us to know it means fingerprints and realise it is his word.

Certainly not a case of people who believe reading what they want into a text just like Christians, Hindus etc.. do - no - this is really a miracle.

    Return to Islam now.

*Disclaimer: Failure to spot this miracle could result in eternal roasting.

people recognised fingerprints as unique thousands of years before Muhammed mentioned fingertips.

hahahahaha......yeah i posted a very long response on this so called miracle on facebook .... here is what i wrote on facebook link

may be i am totally wrong.. but here are my points

    1) 75:4 talks about fingertips or fingers, not fingerprints
This verse was revealed when idolators of Mecca inquired about how man will resurrected on the day of judgement in same shape and size ......so Allah revealed this verse...and according to different tafsirs including Ibn Kathir , this verse speaks about bones , here is Ibn Kathir's commentary on 75:4

(Yes, We are able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers.) meaning, `does man think that We will not gather his bones Surely, We will gather them and We are quite able to put together his fingertips. This means Our power is suitable to gather (and recreate) them, and if We wished We could surely resurrect him with more than what he originally had. We could make his Banan, which are the tips of his fingers, all equal (in length).

According to many Arabic scholars "banan" in arabic stands for
    >Tip of the finger of hands and feet (banana means whole finger);
    >Joints of fingers.

So first claim that this verse speaks about Fingerprints is wrong, it speaks about bones and joints and their sizes.....but lets agree that this verse literally speaks about finger prints......but then the next claim that nobody knew about fingerprints 1400 years ago is wrong because in ancient Babylon, fingerprints were used on clay tablets for business transactions. In ancient China, thumb prints were found on clay seals.

Please don't mind but this is what I know about this ^scientific miracle^
