I think William Lane Craig is literally the best Christianity has got. He is a monster debater. I think he beat Christopher Hitchens in their debate, but Craig lost to Sam Harris. Sam Harris rocks.

The irony, considering that craig himself always appeals to emotion to prove his premise of the existence of objective morality. But he always gets away with it with his high school debate tactics which he is pretty good at.

Yeah I've seen the debate between Craig and Hitchens, and I have to say he pummeled Hitchens in that debate.

But I havent seen Craig versus harris though. Do you have a link of the debate somewhere?

But then again I have heard similiar thing from other faithfuls. if God said kill women and children then that would be classed as being Good and not evil.

I agree Gladfly, a great example of how religion can corrupt people.

Craig believes that the psychological trauma and excruciating pain experienced by children who were being murdered is inconsequential.

Not to mention that they probably witnessed their parents being killed before their eyes... trivial presumably according to Craig.

Like Dawkins pointed out, Craig believes it was the victim's fault for being murdered because they didn't run away. A bit like it's a rape victim's fault for dressing in a sexually arousing manner.... They were asking for it!

Presumably none of the inhabitants were infirmed, mentally ill, or disabled and literally couldn't run away!

Craig is another reason why I support the 'new atheist' movement.

I don't think Harris owned him at all. I think Sammy delivered his points rather poorly, and his red herrings didn't help.

Craig is clearly a sophist, but an experienced one. It's frustrating watching scientists and polemical writers fall on their faces due to relative lack of philosophical training or inexperience in live debates.
