Could it be that most Tunisians are not as "moderate" in their outlook as our western pundits assumed?
In the 24 October 2011 Tunisian Constituent Assembly election, the first elections since the Tunisian Revolution, the party won 40% of the vote,[7][8] and 89 of the 217 assembly seats...
The party is generally described as socially centrist with mild support for economic liberalism. The party wishes to revise the strong secular, Arab nationalist, and socialist principles that predominate among the other parties, and instead allow Islam into public life and be more accommodating to other viewpoints such as closer relations with the West and greater economic freedom.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ennahda_MovementDH, until you bring evidence that there are discussions about public floggings being mandated in Tunisia, then they ARE moderate Islamists. Bring evidence, beyond CONTRIBUTED NEWS BY ONE PERSON like you did above, or....STFU. (incidentally they were complaining about political rhetoric, not Islamic Laws, fucktard)
Also, you've now proven you're desperation to be a bigot by so easily lumping MOST Tunisians together, when only part of the population voted, and only 40% of that PART voted Ennahda, which is a SECULAR party.
This entire thread is a strawman.
