^My point is that we all have to respect the outcome of elections when they are considered free and fair, like those in Tunesia now, and those in Germany in 1932. IMO, peoples have the right to choose their own rulers, even if we don't agree with the outcome. That's democracy.

My theory: almost all who CARED that a secular party should rule: they voted.
Those who are too ignorant to want a secular party, either didn't vote, or made up 60% of the part that did vote.
So if a bigger number of Tunisians had voted, the 40% figure would have dropped...
But I agree that this is good democracy all the same.
The ruler any country gets is the ruler any country deserves.

The guy was in solitary confinement for 15 years for being a member of an illegal organization. Went on hunger strikes, he's elected because of that not because of his political ideology. It's too soon for a stable political atmosphere. Right now, the millions unemployed is the main issue, as it is in most places.

DH doesn't think of jobs, because to dehumanize a people, they can't be made to look like everyone else. That is why I call him a cunt, on a regular basis.

Probably some did, but it's a bit like Nelson Mandela, most people are clueless about his politics, but they know he was somehow good, and that he was in prison. The leader of Ennahda went through the a similar thing, I suspect no matter what his religion was, he would have got a high percentage based on that alone. There are also conservatives, and liberals who think secularism is liberalism, and people who vote because they've not done it before. Basically, the only way to know is to ask Tunisians who voted for him, until then to make any assertions about the electorate is ignorant, which is why I've highlighted possible reasons for voting Ennahda, without declaring ONE SINGLE REASON as a motivator. Ignoring everything else. Like DH does, in his campaign of being a cunt.

It's possible that people vote for a religious party not BECAUSE it is religious but IN SPITE of it being religious, if they prefer everything else such party has to say when compared to the other non-religious parties available.
