Such shame ;A; things changed for the worst, and everyone believes that religious extremism was the norm eternity. Especially with the whole hijab phenomenon. It's only recently that it's becoming such a big deal.

we need to bit deeper in to Afghan history to figure out how a society like that transforms in to this.. with such scenes as this Sakura02

You just need a religion like Islam +feudal class + foreign invasions.. with in 30 years you can transform a society in to an unrecognizable hell hole..

^ Islam already existed. Islamists with weapons fighting foreign invasions did not, the foreign invasion/occupation needs to change first if women's rights are going to improve because as long as there is a foreign occupation the mullahs will always have influence (Jihad being fard etc.) and anyone who speaks against them (liberals, feminists) will be seen as being traitors/agents of the occupation.

Yup Afghanstian was like that until the US kicked out the Soviets because they were commies' and supported the Taliban. Now the US is trying to destroy a monster they created. I wished more Muslims especially women, knew that in the 30s to 50s women had more freedoms than they did now in Afganistan. Because I think women assume that they were always held under strict religious rules and 'being Western' by not wearing long skirts and hijabs, is like a new threat, to religious piety. The truth is in BOTH Afganistan and Saudi Arabia apparently, women weren't pressured to dress a certain way. The pressure for muslim women to cover is a new phenomena,that seriously needs to go away.

Wow, I didn't expect the three first pictures. It blew my mind.

By the time political Islam visited Afghanistan, I guess the women from the pictures became no more than shitbags.
