How about posting our Christmas lists on here?

I mean, this festival is mainly about buying or getting stuff, right? Also, some dude in a red suit with a pot belly.

Yay,  dance I'm looking forward to it for a change!  dance When I was a Muslim, I never dived into the christmas spirit for obvious reasons, and I even tried to hate it. But now, I will do my upmost to enjoy it. I agree with starsdust, the christmasy feeling is nice and not "evil". Roll Eyes

Looking forward to see what's on TV.

I prefer the more traditional picture of christmas Tongue

lol, time to be thoughtful, christmas lights, snow...it's that nice cosy feeling, crappy christmas tv :p (although as a kid it was good since the films weren't yet another repeat for me lol.)

Yea, I'm going to the hampton court one that is around the castle.  That is gonna be awesome.

Also taking the kids to see the pot bellied man at santa's grotto.

I kind of love and hate christmas.

I hate all the work that goes into this one day of the year when people suddenly have expectations that you have to buy them something.  Then again I love it, because for some I enjoy seeing the look on their face when they open a gift.  It's just I have kids and friends so my finances get fucked over at that time of year.

Plus my kids break the shit, once within a day of it they broke the xbox 360.  So I hate and I love this stupid holiday.

It reminds me of being a child, when my dad was westernised and he used to put up a tree and do xmas for us.  Xmas as a child is fun, as a parent its only fun vicariously because it's all work on my part.

Decorations, shopping, cooking all day like an idiot over food that is nowhere near as nice as moroccan food.

But still, I'm gonna get drunk with my friend and her mum since I have invited them over.  Hopefully this will be a good year and I won't end up getting mad at all the god damn work involved.

Tree is going up in less than 2 weeks.  I love chilling at night with the warm glow of the lights on a tree.   parrot

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

If I hear Slade, I will conduct a massacre. Last year I was almost pushed to complete irreversible psychopathy after a series of Slade, in different places, like it was FOLLOWING me.

I do like the traditional Christmas though, I'm not a Grinch, it's just the BAD cliches like Slade that annoy me. The TV is painful. I prefer just being outside in my area, saying MC to people you never otherwise speak to, and the foody atmosphere.

In Scotland, what's more important than Christmas is Hogmany, I love it!

We sometimes go to Edinburgh for it, now that's magic. Hogmany in Edinburgh, or even Glasgow. I think we make a bigger deal out of New Year than Christmas.

Noooooo! Completely corny I know, but there is something inexplicably delightful and uplifting about the combination of Slade and Christmas! Lmao.

Christmas was always low key in our household and is even more so now that the kids are older. It's all about relaxing and having a  fun family time with good eats and drinks, games and long walks in the countryside. Oh and I love the tree and picking holly, ivy and mistletoe to hang in the house.

    You´ll like Aebleskiver too

Æbleskiver (Danish meaning apple slices (singular: æbleskive)) are traditional Danish pancakes in a distinctive shape of a sphere. Somewhat similar in texture to American pancakes crossed with a popover, æbleskiver are solid like a pancake but light and fluffy like a popover. The English language spelling is usually aebleskiver or ebleskiver.

In the United States, a version of æbleskiver is sold with a commercially repackaged pan, branded as "Pancake Puffs".

    Æbleskive pan :

PreparationThe batter for æbleskiver usually includes wheat flour, which is mixed with buttermilk, milk or cream, eggs, sugar and a pinch of salt. Some recipes also include fat (usually butter), cardamom and lemon zest to improve taste, and a leavening agent, most often baking powder, but sometimes yeast, to aerate the batter.

Batter is poured into the oiled indentations and as the æbleskiver begin to cook, they are turned with a knitting needle, skewer or fork to give the cakes their characteristic spherical shape. They were traditionally cooked with bits of apple (æble) or applesauce inside but these ingredients are very rarely included in modern Danish forms of the dish. Æbleskiver are not sweet themselves but are traditionally served dipped in raspberry, strawberry, lingonberry or blackberry jam and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Æbleskiver can be bought fried and frozen at supermarkets, only needing heating in an oven.
