Well my parents found out about this forum. I was looking lurking through the forum as usual (I don't usually have stuff to add to discussions). I usually check everyday and all. My mom walked behind me and I closed the window rapidly. She saw BerberElla's avatar and thought I was watching porn or something. Then I showed her the site because she yelled at me to. She saw "muslims" instead of "council of ex-muslims of britain". Now my family thinks I'm a pervert terrorist. Great, just great. Now I can't go on this sight as much as I would like to.

ex-muslims truly don't exist in the minds of some muslims.

reminds me of when i was a vegetarian and told my parents a billion times but it just wouldn't enter their heads. same experience with some of my friends telling them i'm bisexual.

You could just tell her it was an avatar and explain what an avatar is. I've disabled avatars so whenever I login I don't see any avatars myself.
