Also, stardust, I have seen many good looking guy and not so good looking girl relationships in the real world.  I see them and think maybe there is hope for me.  Grin

I've seen a lot of average guys with good looking girls, so I also think there is hope for me.   yay

I like rough, ready and rebellious. Rock'n'roll. A hard man. A warrior. A tiger. Typically an alpha male who you just know can handle themselves in a fight and looks like they have had their share of them.

That isn't to say I like men who are violent for the sake of it. The opposite is true. I like my warriors honourable, not thuggish. It isn't so much the potential for aggression that attracts me, but more of the comfortably lived-in look that fighters have. I am drawn to 'physical wisdom', if that makes sense. Someone big, tall, strong, proud, someone who not only takes care of their body but who also uses it, with ease. Someone who exudes physical prowess. There is almost always a genuine, unthinking confidence that comes with it. And that's magnetic to me. No awkwardness. No need for arrogance. No need to show off. Natural composure and coolness. Comfortable in their skin.

If I had to pick one person (and wasn't allowed to cop-out and say my boyfriend), I'd pick Tom Hardy.

He bulked up a bit too much for me in Warrior, but I'd still be all over him.

He'll be huge again for the new Christopher Nolan Batman movie. Which I'm dying to see. Nolan obviously saw something he likes in him when he worked with him in Inception. I hope he gives him the screen time he deserves.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

It was the performance that really won me over. Shone even with Nolte's great show there.

I happened to be in one of only 4 cinemas in the country (apparently) to screen the TDKR prologue, I couldn't understand a word he said (even though I'd already read the script) and you couldn't make out any emotion from his face because of the mask. Think he's a bit limited in how much he can do with that part.

     Reply #132 - January 13, 2012, 02:32 PM

Yeah, Nolte deserves an Oscar nomination for that perfomance.

I think Hardy will surprise us both in The Dark Knight Rises. Both him and Nolan will know how to get the most out of the part. Nolan wouldn't have chosen Bane as a villian for his third and final Batman installment if he didn't have something special in mind. I expect some great set pieces that rival those of Ledger vs. Bale in The Dark Knight.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

Well whatever Nolan's other plans for the movie, the visuals should be insane. That one scene was a breathtaking bit of cinema. I know Nolan likes to do things as real as possible, but if that wasn't CGI then goddamn, the use of IMAX really paid off.

No I don't have a type, per se. I just tend to steer away from anyone who looks 'ghetto' or 'gangsta' and hangs around in a large pack, regardless of what race they are, because that just spells trouble. I like decent guys who can make me laugh. That's it really. Although come to think of it I only ever seem to attract the 'wrong' type ... meh

You usually attract the wrong kind 'cause the jerks tend to be the confident and outspoken ones. If you want a "nice" guy, you probably need to put more effort and be more proactive in your search.

The intelligent ones. Maybe because they're intelligent enough to stay away from me XD

Hmm, that makes sense. So I need to like, try and approach them first or something like that?

    Cheesy Cheesy
If only it were that easy ...

Nice people are afraid of being too aggressive. I'm guilty of it myself. But when I'm more assertive, I tend to get what I want more. There's a difference between being assertive and being unable to take 'no' for an answer. Part of being confident is accepting rejection.

I'm really attracted to confident girls. It makes things easy, and makes me comfortable around them. I met this girl once. Less than five minutes after introducing ourselves, she kept looking at me while her mind was preoccupied with something. I stared back, wondering what she wanted. She just said, "Sorry, I can't stop looking, you're really cute." I just thought, "Wow, this girl is gutsy." The only word I could vocalize was "Thanks."

Her body language throughout the night clearly indicated that she was interested in me. She would always come closer and turn towards me when she was speaking, even when we weren't facing each other. When we were dancing, that made it really easy for me to grab and dance with her. (I'm not the kind of guy who grabs random girls. I find that really sleazy and forms a social hierarchy where the girl can feel too uncomfortable to reject me.)

The only thing I regret is not being more assertive. I felt that I could've done more. But there was a jerk who was annoying her and I felt bad for her, so I wanted her to be comfortable around me.
