I have only been into Hip-hop this year so i will go with Watch The Throne by Kanye West and Jay Z, for me thats the best mainstream rap album.

FabricLive 58. Mixed by Goldie. Not all fresh tunes on it, and not technically an album, but this is one of my most loved and most played music releases of 2011. Goldie sure knows how to select.

I have not bought many 'albums' this year. Been a quiet year for big DnB releases apart from the annuals, mixes, compilations etc. If you'd asked me last year, there were loads of big names with original album-length material. Some fucking amazing singles and EPs this year, but I don't suppose those count.

Above & Beyond - Group Therapy. This whole album is bliss. I've been listening to it since it came out and still can't stop, it was love at first listen.

Cosmic Gate - Wake Your Mind. This album came out late during the year and I haven't heard it enough times, but I'm in love with it.

This track is also my favourite single of the year.

John O'Callaghan - Unfold This guy mixes uplifting melodies with really heavy and moving bass like no one else. He's also the best DJ I've seen this year.

I've only brought one album this year, and to be honest haven't listened to much music this year either. But my favourite albums this year has to be, Mylo Xyloto by Coldplay and Lasers by Lupe Fiasco.

Purity Ring - Ungirthed
Technically not an album, just a collection of leaks released by the group with 3 tracks total but I LOVE this "album". The combination of beats and vocals is so dope that all of the songs have a few -cough-hundred-cough- plays from me. I hope they blow up really soon like they deserve to.

Santa brought me Ministry Of Sound - XX Twenty Years. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of one of the best clubs in the world. Easily one of the best albums they've put together. 4CDs packed with landmark dance anthems (and some cult hits for the dedicated fans of the club) and much love.

I dont understand why wiki classifies him as 'gangsta rap'. Theres nothing gangsta about him. His dressing style is west coast not gangsta. I think he's being erroneously associated with gangsta rap because he used to be under Ruthless. Hes west coast(beats/hook) underground, comedy/diss rap thats about it.

He's refreshing because he takes shot wildly like a loose machine gun. Not too sure if he can be considered strictly underground. And yeah he's a rehashed version of Eminem.
