Interacting with many Indian Muslims., I think they are More Indian that they are Muslim(off course that is my observation with Indian Muslims who live out side of India) That doesn't mean  it fits to all Muslims of India..

Zakir Naik would have been DEAD if he was a Pakistani.. lol..

    India’s Muslim   dilemma

Why the time has come for affirmative action to end the deprivation and dispossession of India’s Muslims.

It’s one of those seasons again when India’s politicians rediscover the existence of Muslims. With elections in five states, including Uttar Pradesh, and possibly early general elections looming on the horizon, the Congress has dipped into its ancient bag of tricks and come up with the reservation card for Muslims.

    Quote
Law Minister Salman Khurshid suggests the government is considering a six percent quota for “backward Muslims” under the 27 percent quota allocated for economically backward communities.

    .............
The Muslims have lower employment rates (48 and 9.6pc for males and females) than Dalits (52.8 and 23 percent respectively). In twelve states where the Muslims’ population share is 15.4 percent, their employment rate is just 5.7 percent. In big states like UP and Bihar, this proportion is less than a third of their population share.

    Quote
This exclusion from the table extends to all areas, from lower bureaucracy to the judiciary to elite civil services. Muslims’ share in the IAS, IPS and IFS is 2.2, 3.0 and 1.6 percent respectively. In the armed forces, their proportion is said to be just two percent. According to another survey by ActionAid and Indian Social Institute, 41.9 percent of Muslims in rural areas have an annual income less than Rs10,000, which is less than $200 dollars.

    Quote
Let’s face it. The Muslims are India’s new untouchables. It’s all very well to showcase the cool Khans of Bollywood and sport icons like Sania Mirza as the new faces of India’s Muslims. The larger reality of the community unfortunately is different. Facing political and economic marginalisation and security concerns on the one hand and being perpetually under the scanner of security agencies as usual suspects, they find comfort in numbers and in their ghettoes and slums in urban India. Poverty in small town India and rural areas is even worse. Little of the government benefits and programmes, targeting the vast majority of the economically struggling communities, trickles down to them.

    Quote
Regardless of the eventual outcome of the Muslim quota proposal, it’s past time for real and bold action to check the marginalisation and alienation of the community. Reservations or affirmative action, call it what you will, there is a desperate need to stop the free fall of an entire community. While the caste-based reservations for the communities long discriminated against because of their birth makes sense, there must be a way to help the large deprived communities such as Muslims. The quota in education and jobs – as little as six percent – may not be the be-all and end-all magic wand to end all of Muslims’ woes but it’s a start and better than doing nothing

    .
...... India cannot aspire for global leadership and glory while a huge chunk of its population, around 200 million, remains out in the cold.

read it all at the link..

well some points are good You know your India has Muslim Law Ministers and Muslim Presidents Muslim sports men  and women..   be happy...

You knwo what you are writing and HOW STUPID YOU ARE Aijaz Zaka Syed  this one

Why do you keep posting religious cack in the science section?

It does look like this is an issue with Islam, not the particular country the matter arises in.

From a pool of 1.4 BILLION Muslims which are 20% of the world's population (2 out of every 10 people)

From a pool of 12 million Jews which are 0.2% of the World's Population (2 out of every 1,000 people)After reviewing this list, can you supply a reason for the large discrepancy between the Arab/Islamic population's contribution to the world body and that of the Jew? There are 165 Jews listed as opposed to 6 from the Arab side.

Is Islam designed to create ignorance, poverty and superstition?  It does seem to be very successful at doing this.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
    IN TRODUC TION
Ever since the dawn of human life on this planet, Man has always sought to understand Nature, his own place in the scheme of Creation and the purpose of Life itself. In this quest for Truth, spanning many centuries and diverse civilizations, organized religion has shaped human life and
determined to a large extent, the course of history. While some religions have been based on books, claimed by their adherents to be divinely inspired, others have relied solely on human experience.
Al-Qur’aan, the main source of the Islamic faith, is a book believed by Muslims, to be of completely Divine origin. Muslims also believe that it contains guidance for all mankind. Since the message of the Qur’aan is believed to be for all times, it should be relevant to every age.

Any UK University would immediately fail this on several grounds.  Firstly, it is completely unacceptable to use sexist language like "Man".

Secondly, nothing must be assumed, like the koran being divinely inspired.

Where is his doctorate from, in what subject?

I think it is a good idea but u need to have people who know classical Arabic from that time, or u need to have an old dictionary and old definitions of words so we can see how these modern interpreations are just made up to fit science, I don't know if someone can find an Arabic Dictionary of the 10th Century and the translation of several words in the wuran and compare it to the modern ones which are given different interpretation.

Angry These scientific miracle claims just make me angry nowadays as there was a point in my life where I fell for this sortta bullshit. I was duped hook, line & sinker.

When truth is hurled against falsehood, falsehood perishes, for falsehood by its nature is bound to perish.
