  • Thoughts on Shahada!!!
     OP - December 16, 2011, 11:40 AM

Recently I was searching through an Albanian forum and I ran into a religious topic about Heaven and Hell.

A guy asked if Heaven exists he wants to buy a ticket to go there and another guy replied him as following:

    The ticket to heaven is:

    1. Witness that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of God.

and the rest u know the other 4 Pillars of Islam.

What caught my attention was that another person had replied as follows:

To witness on something you don't know and u can't know is to lie about,  I am not sure that Allah wants people to witness and say there is god if they are not sure about it and can't prove it.

    So I was thinking.

According to Islamic Law you should witness and never lie about something u know, have seen it with ur own eyes and can prove it pretty much, now by Shahada God wants us to witness he is the only God but there is no evidence for his existence at all.

I've always wondered about this. What the hell is the point of syahadah? I didnt 'witness' that there are no other gods but allah, and I sure as fuck didn't 'witness' that muhammad was his messenger, since the guy has been dead for the last 1400 years.

    exactly

to witness/testify to anything you have to experience one of the 5 main senses

    can allah be seen ?
    can allah be heard ?
    can allah be touched ?
    can allah be smelt ?
    can allah be heard ?

So basically if allah farts can he smell it if he can't see it or touch it but everyone heard it?

Not sure I would want to witness that.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

I also find it silly that for it to be true and accepted it has to be said in front of a number of other Muslims. I'm not sure exactly what the conditions on needing witnesses is, but I find it superfluous to attach any pomp to it when in theory Allah is supposed to see and know all. Even if saying it publicly is not a set in stone requirement, saying it out loud in private also doesn't exactly make sense. Allah is supposed to know what is in your heart and mind, wouldn't simply thinking it and acting accordingly be enough for him?..

LOL, come to think of it, shahada really does seem silly. I never really even thought of it. Grin

I have a whole argument against the need to pray. Any one interested in it?

Well, I am busy, but the more I think the more I realize that prayers to supreme gods are ridiculous. Another project to work on, just like my novel and my poetry,eh?
