I rather like that last song, but I'm not detecting any similarities in sound between the two bands. Talking Heads was a highly experimental rock band that did a lot of synth in the 80s, but they were still fundamentally a rock band that came out of the late 70s NYC punk scene. Much more lyrically-driven and guitar-based sound than this-- plus David Byrne had a VERY distinctive voice, but then again, I'm just basing that on the songs you posted, don't know much about LCD Soundsystem, being the crusty old musical necrophiliac that I am-- only neo-new wave act (if that's even an appropriate term to use) that I'm relatively familiar with is The Sounds, although I guess I'm a bit familiar with some of the dance-punk/electroclash bands that kinda overlap with that sound, but not even much on them. *The Colonel crawls back to his dark, dingy den of pre-2000 records*

I dunno. They just remind me of each other. Maybe it's the chords used. Or maybe the accent. LCD Soundsystem are definitely not rock. Don't know.

Heh, heard that song many times but never seen the video or the band before now. Very interesting they have a traditional skinhead look-- definitely wouldn't have expected that based on the sound of the song.

Anyways, that song always reminds me of this one since they were both used in car commercials around the same time in the late 90s or early 2000s (I think both for VWs), and another cool synth song from around the same time in the early 80s:

First time I clicked on this thread - great music, perhaps because the eighties were my teenage years, especially Prince, boy did he have a purple patch in the eighties. And as Sign of the Times, Raspberry Beret and When Doves Cry have been posted, for me it leaves Girls and Boys. (Tbh not sure what is meant by synth(have a fair idea)
