    Cockatiels are parrots. They are a member of the Cockatoo family.

    African Greys are really smart. They are excellent talkers too.

    Dr. Irene Pepperberg has been conducting research on Parrot Intelligence for over 30 years. Her first subject was an African Grey called Alex:

    I know about Alex the parrot. The African Gray parrots have the largest body to brain ratio of birds, so they are incredibly smart. It doesn't put you on my shit list, I just think it is unethical and a total psychological disconnect to keep animals as pets, and I abhor, pet owners, cat owners more than anyone else.  Imagine a superior race of extra-terrestrials coming across our planet, and they decide to keep us as pets.

    Me too.

    On top of that I wouldn't have to work for a living. Someone else will be there to provide me housing, food, and other basic necessities. I wouldn't have to do any cleaning too.
