Any way, at the end of my 14th day - two whole weeks without a cigarette, I actually cleaned our pool today, vaccuumed the dirt from the floor, put in treatment so that the pool can return to its former glory.

There is a time that I couldn't imagine being without cigs but 4 years down the line from a 20+ year 20+ a day habit and never felt better in fact I really struggle to even imagine myself smoking anymore.

So for all of you who are stopping by whatever means it does get easier and you can do it just keep trying.

I want to quit but I don't want to use meds to achieve it.

Instead I've bought an electric cigarette as I know a fair few people who have completely stopped using them.

I've smoked from it a couple of times, you need at most 3 inhalations to get the same nicotine high that your very first smoke of the day would give you.  It really does feel like I am smoking.  Was surprised at how satisfied it made me feel for awhile.

I've tried to patches before, managed 48 hours before cracking.

So yep, I shall be using my electric smoke to see if tat works for me since for me it is very much the relaxing routine of smoking itself, the inhaling, the hand movement, all of that, that makes quitting hard for me.  I need something to do with my hands as I am very fidgety.

Anyway good luck, I really wish you well and hope you manage to kick the habit.   Afro

berb what electronic cigarette brand did you use , I think I wanna buy one, and hopefully I could reduce the nicotine intake, I can't quit spontaneously, it make my vision blurred, dark and I kinda wanna collapsed. I'm not overweight, I'm underweight.

and Dr.Zhivago good to you, I'm rooting for you,if you can do it, so can I . Afro

Well done, Doc.  Now's the time to stay on your guard though.  You thoroughly deserve the plaudits but beware the seductive second hand smoke impinging your nostrils from the guy exhaling just upwind.
Hopefully you'll be stroking your way up and down the pool now.

Intend to start swimming as soon as I get our pool cleaned properly, pool is blue, but the vacuum is not working properly so lots of dirt settles at the bottom of the pool, need to borrow a vacuum cleaner from a friend, texting him now to bring it tomorrow.
Once again thanks for letting me share this journey with you guys  far away hug

.. this is where you step in .. don't underestimate the power of a nice compliment from a man, especially a husband.. weight needs to take second place .. 5-10 pounds is what the average person gains after quitting (which is null considering you guys are walking more now)

think how much will and strength it took to kick smoking... she can do this!!!

i had a bad internet service hence why i didnt reply early

I used to smoke cigarette for rebellious reasons, more like on and off until two years ago i got addicted to nicotine and seeing how fatal it is,i decided to put an end to it.

This is the second time im attempting to quit, the first time ended only two weeks of not smoking. Im glad i dont have to waste my money on that again and it has made a difference a lot regarding that

it's a challenge for people who don't want to quit, like myself or never thinking of quitting. grin12
    it could be a motivational
    challenging factor
it will be a good experience, like the real live show program on competing in losing weight.

I'll compete with you, paranoid! Prepare to win!

It was actually a great idea, people just did not realize that you base your ideas on the latest discoveries in the field of self help. It has now been shown that through failure comes real success and failure should be embraced. Above has been proved by great self help author Martha Beck who seems to work for Oprah herself! Anyone even remotely interested in self help should read the article below:

    http://www.oprah.com/spirit/10-Life-Lessons-You-Should-Unlearn-Martha-Beck-Life-Coach-Advice_1/1

And memorize it! @paranoid when you want the competition to begin? I was thinking about new years (Jan 1st 2013).
