  • Post your music!
     OP - February 11, 2012, 05:17 PM

    I'll start:

This is what I can play so far from the first movement of Beethoven's 14th sonata on my old Casio keyboard:

    http://soundcloud.com/harakaat/moonlight-sonata

And this is me playing and singing an old Turkish song I used to be obsessed with as a kid:

    http://soundcloud.com/harakaat/uskudar

I like that song - good job.

Here's some of my music, heavy on the jazz and soul with hip-hop and funk beats:

Thanks, I use FL Studio with a midi keyboard.  I would like to buy some real instruments, however I don't have space at the moment.  How long have you been composing, arX?

Holy. fucking. shit. Nigga. WTF. No wonder your taste in music is awesome. I could listen to these all day, especially the first one.  Afro Are you serious about producing or is it just a form of expression/release?

Ha! OK, that just made my week, coming from someone with your taste.

Up until six months ago, it was mostly a hobby but I've changed direction in my studies and getting serious about music now.

    Thank you, Jema.

Damn Jema I was so close to droping med to do genetics (through second-year biomedical sciences)!  We might have been in the same class.  Newcastle isn't so bad, you know.  (And I'm just studying music here in London - not confident enough to go into production and the like.)

Back on topic, I made this for my girlfriend (at the time), inspired by Donny Hathaway and using extracts from the film A Little Romance (with Lawrence Olivier):

Well done on the Toccata and Fugue, Solara.  For me, it's all about one's own take on these tunes and your variation on it is lovely.  Not spooky!

Mafooz, that second one, Usual Suspects, is my favourite of yours so far.  Loving the beatbox rhythm.... on an MJ tip!

I used to be in orchestra band, and so I've kind of always liked orchestra music. I was fiddling around with layering instruments, and here's a sort of brief orchestral close that I made. It's interesting trying to learn how the different instruments come together to make the final sound.  Smiley

I recorded this the other day with my laptop sitting on top of the piano, so the quality isn't great, but whatever.
I know it might be cheesy, but this song has a personal significance to me...so yeah.
