As long as there is an occupation, the responsibility of the nation, its govt. (which they hand-picked) is with NATO, once they leave then I'll blame Afghans. Its like Iraq, any problems there cannot be blamed on the US any more, coz they were told to GTFO.
I think it's an exaggeration to say the government was "hand-picked" given that there was an electoral process. If you want to say the range of candidates was artificially limited that's supportable, but it's not quite the same thing.
Also, you can't blame all the corruption in the electoral process on the US/NATO when you have things like
this:
"I have to get the ink off before I go home," said Ahmed Khalid, a labourer who had travelled into the relative safety of Kabul from Sarobi, an hour's drive to the east, where the presence of insurgents forced the closure of many polling stations. "If the Taliban see this, they will kill me or cut off my finger."
IOW, your "friends of the family" using violence and intimidation to affect the outcome of the polls.
That's not what I meant -_- I do believe that being brown and muslim usually means you're more likely to be dehumanised making war seem more 'acceptable' .
That's effectively the same claim, Aphrodite. Dehumanising people because of their differences
is racism, so you are claiming that deaths of civilian Afghans are due to racism.
Yes most want it to stop but the ones who can actually do something about it aren't really bothered.
How do you figure that?
