Zakir Naik - The Final Revelation

Hi all, i wasn't sure where to post this, so i decided this would probably be the best place for it.

I was wondering what people here thought of Zakir Naik, he seems to make good points, but there are some occasions where his arguments aren't so strong.

i just mean the bits where he talks about how after Mohammed claimed to be the prophet it didn't benefit him, also the falsification tests part, but I'm unsure, if that's what a real falsification test is...

Becoming powerful in his own right, and having the power of life and death over others, didn't benefit him?

The belief that he was accountable only to Allah - who, effectively, only spoke through him - didn't benefit him?

My points?

1. Falsification has a way of becoming irrelevant when you ignore inconvenient propositions rather than falsify them.
2. Where Zakir Naik doesn't lie outright, his field of vision is conveniently narrow..

Before it gets too late, you will find escape.

I am at work so I can't watch that video, but I'm pretty certain Mo benefited big time from claiming to be a prophet. Amassing an army of devout followers willing to do anything you command sounds pretty beneficial to me. Being viewed as creator-approved example to all mankind (regardless of what you do - anything can be justified with a new "revelation") sounds pretty beneficial to me. Obtaining that sort of power may not have been easy, but it certainly paid off in the end.

He also got a lot of ass. Muslims will say oh these are old widows he did them a great service!

I heard that Muhammad went hungry many days after he had spent all the wealth of Khadijah. If he is starving then why is he marrying the 'poor widows'? Was there lack of wealthy Muslim men? Maybe it's not his stomach that is starving but something else.

Being a widow does not automatically mean you are ugly and old. Marrying a divorcee or widow was not outside the norm in the pre-Islamic society, why would that be such a noble act when everyone did it? Averaga Joe does it today without making a big deal out of it. Moreover, many of his wives were actually known to be both (very) beautiful and young, and even sought after (for example Umm Salamah). Only exception was Sawdah who even gave up her day out of fear that Mo would divorce her since she was his age and probably "un-fuckable" according to Mr Mo's standards and preferences. Which should tell us exactly how much he did those "poor" widows a favour.

Considering the vast amount of war booty available I doubt Mo was as poor as some hadith litterature suggests. On the contrary, Mo had accumulated wealth he left after his death which Fatimah and Abu Bakr bickered over. A poor person usually has no inheritance his heir can inheret, don't you think?

Finally, there are PLENTY of examples where Mo either divorced or turned down proposals after he found out the woman in question was either "too old" or "not beautiful" enough.
