  • is there any evidence that the quran has been 'preserved'

i have heard muslims many times claiming that the quran is perfectly preserved.

Muslims make the claim very proudly, as if they can prove it. I always assumed that they could prove it, but never bothered to check because I simply didn't care.
Who cares if a book hasnt changed? big deal.

But now, I would like to know if they can prove it, and if not, why they so often make this claim.
It seems that the Uthman quran in Turkey  (supposedly the oldest) is two thirds missing, and even if it were complete, you couldnt prove that this is the same as what muhammed was blabbering.

Many thanks for the link. It is exactly what I need to crush dawahgandists in my part of the world.
