I didn't say it started with Petreaus, what I'm saying is he knew it was going and didn't stop it, worst than that, he used it as a form of divide and conquer and then took credit for the 'peace' that came afterwards.

Gay Vote Seen as Crucial in Obama’s Victory- them queers is ruining Murrika!

    Quote
While President Obama’s lopsided support among Latino and other minority voters has been a focus of postelection analysis, the overwhelming support he received from another growing demographic group — Americans who identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual — has received much less attention.

But the backing Mr. Obama received from gay voters also has a claim on having been decisive. Mitt Romney and Mr. Obama won roughly an equal number of votes among straight voters nationwide, exit polls showed. And, a new study argues, Mr. Romney appears to have won a narrow victory among straight voters in the swing states Ohio and Florida.

Mr. Obama’s more than three-to-one edge in exit polls among the 5 percent of voters who identified as gay, lesbian or bisexual was more than enough to give him the ultimate advantage, according to the study, by Gary J. Gates of the Williams Institute at the U.C.L.A. School of Law, in conjunction with Gallup.

Obama bussing in his homies to help him win the election.

Ha. Looks like that idjut (Webster) copped a caning from his own party.

Webster apologizes for comments about black voters

    Quote
The Maine Republican party chairman says his comments were made 'without proof of wrongdoing' and he won't investigate.

Maine Republican Party Chairman Charlie Webster issued an apology Thursday for his statements about unknown black voters casting ballots in rural Maine on Election Day.

"I apologize for my recent remarks about African-American voter turnout in rural Maine towns," Webster said in a written statement. "It was my intention to talk not about race, but about perceived voting irregularities.  However, my comments were made without proof of wrongdoing and they had the unintended consequence of casting aspersions on an entire group of Americans.  For that, I am truly sorry.

"Additionally, I will not be sending out any mailers to try to determine whether the addresses of recent registrants are valid, as I stated in the interview.

"Finally, I want to make clear that my remarks do not express the values of the Maine Republican Party, which stands for individual rights and seeks to represent all Mainers regardless of race, sex, age, religion, or wealth."

The apology comes after members of his own party sharply criticized him, even calling for his immediate resignation. Webster said earlier Thursday that he felt bad for singling out black voters during a wide-ranging, post-election interview this week with Don Carrigan of WCSH-TV.

    This is hilarious.

I've just been reading the comment section on the Daily Mail online story of the Papa John's controversy. For those of you who don't know, the CEO of the pizza chain Papa John's has just come out and said he will increase the cost of his pizzas $0.15 for every pizza to compensate for Obamacare, a study by Forbes showed that he would only have to increase the price around $0.03 per pizza, so really, he's just lying and making a profit because his candidate lost. He also said that he would cut down some employees' hours to make them part time so he wouldn't have to get them health insurance, so not only is he over-compensating for the added cost of Obamacare, he's also fucking with employees because he's pissed off.

Anyway, the scandal aside, the Daily Mail commenters are FOR OBAMACARE and ANTI-REPUBLICAN. You know your country is in trouble when the UK's (and probably Europe's) most right-winged, herp derp newspaper and it's moronic followers are to the left on your political scale.

    Oh America.

    How's this for award-winning wingnuttery?

Georgia GOPers hold meeting over Obama mind-control conspiracy
    Quote
Georgia state Senators held a meeting last month to discuss Agenda 21, a supposed UN conspiracy to deny private property rights, which Obama will help accomplish through a mind-control technique known as Delphi.

The meeting was to discuss Agenda 21, a nonbinding UN agreement aimed at promoting sustainable development. It is also the target of conservatives who believe that it is part of a conspiracy to forcibly move suburbanites to cities.

Jim Galloway of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports on the meeting, which was called by the Republican Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers, took place at the Capitol and was led by a former member of the Georgia Tea Party (who was forced out because of various conspiracy theories, including birtherism), Field Searcy. A 90-minute screening of the documentary Agenda: Grinding America Down was also shown, as was a video from conservative pundit Dick Morris, who warns of Obama’s “War on Suburbs” and plan to relocate everyone to urban areas.

In the video, Searcy calls Agenda 21 a “conspiracy to transform America from the land of the free, to the land of the collective,” and says that “our own governments are doing this. Our own local city councils and county commissions – they’re doing this.”

    And:
    Quote
In May, the Kansas Legislature approved a resolution blocking Agenda 21 from being implemented in its state, following in the footsteps of Tennessee. Rogers, the Georgia Senate majority leader, introduced legislation in January that would have blocked the nonbinding UN resolution from being applied to his state. Among other things, the resolution noted that, “according to the United Nations Agenda 21 policy, social justice is described as the right and opportunity of all people to benefit equally from the resources afforded by society and the environment which would be accomplished by socialists and communist redistribution of wealth.”

And these guys are supposedly part of a legitimate political party? whistling2

The issue isn't that these loons exist, we have the same sort of loonies here in the UK, the issue is that they occupy such a large space and basically take up at least half of the American right, so they have an overwhelming voice. Here in the UK idiots like that exist on the far fringes (conspiracy theories can be mildly popular) and are laughed at when they talk in public. In America these are legitimate opinions.

Remember, 25% of Americans STILL believe Obama was born in Kenya, a similar number think 9/11 was a conspiracy, at least 40% don't believe in (the human contribution to) global warming or evolution.

Go DRINK BEER.. beer from Murree Brewery,..Pakistan..

    Quote
RAWALPINDI: What have Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, underage drinking and Pakistan’s only beer maker got in common? It was the arrest of the Hollywood stars’ daughter in New York with a can of Murree Brewery’s beer last June that propelled the company out of obscurity and into the spotlight. Inundated with emails asking about its beer, Murree Brewery seized on the free publicity to launch expansion plans outside the Muslim nation, where alcohol is banned and those that do drink can become targets of Taliban militants and other Islamist fundamentalists.

Five months since the arrest, the 150-year-old company says it has lined up distributors that could see its flagship beer arrive on liquor store shelves in the United States and Dubai as early as the first quarter of next year.

“Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter gave us multi-million dollars worth of publicity by default. We plan to go to the United States and make a queue to hug both the daughter and the mother,” Sabih ur Rehman, special assistant to the chief executive, joked with Reuters...

Pretty much. This shit was settled in the Civil War, states can't secede even over sour grapes like they are bitching about.  The funny part is most secessionist movements are about a minority who has been overtaken by a larger group aka Wales, Quebec, the Kurds, these fucking retards want to secede even though they are in the majority, They think they are more American than America. It's stupid, it's the leftovers from a racist ideology that thinks that a majority should have it's way and everyone else should fall in line.

True, but that's how culture and taboo work. Homosexuality used to keep a CIA agent from getting security clearances because it was assumed that that could be used to blackmail them, and it was true, they could be blackmailed, until recently. Blackmail is only a effective as the victims need to keep the secret hidden.

Posting these comments as a form of education to the world etc is fine, but I would keep it anonymous. I don't like shaming kids, especially idiot kids who are too young to understand the meaning of these words and get this crap from their parents/other kids. It's not going to change their mind if the principal calls them in or someone floods their twitter/facebook account with hateful messages. Kids are stupid anyway, I've long wished that social networking should be exclusively for adults, 18+, and that special kid-friendly social network sites should exist.

They do this to themselves. I don't really see what the problem is with highlighting to these imbeciles that their words that they publish and attribute to themselves online have consequences. This kind of racist behavior is shunned in the larger public, and there's nothing wrong enforcing this taboo. And it certainly isn't oppressing their right to speak freely. After all, there is plenty of racist/imbecilic graffiti in bathroom walls, but you don't often see a full name and address next to it. There's a very good reason for that.

Punishing stupid comments with mob justice is counter-productive IMO. Sure, some people will sensibly tell them off, but a lot of it will be bullying, whether hack attempts, vulgar comments, or sometimes real life action.
