     OP - April 22, 2012, 05:34 AM

I'm thinking of going on a road-trip sometime soon. Give me some ideas of places I should go visit. I'm starting in Georgia, USA and have maybe 10 days.

    Go.

Well, I'm biased, but drive up the west coast from California to Vancouver! Beautiful ocean view. But Georgia is on the other side of the continent, so maybe down the Florida coast?

TORONTO!!!!!!! You know you want to.  grin12

But seriously, Niagara Falls. It's just gorgeous and beautiful and awesome, and you can ride on the Maid of the Mist, and also go to that Butterfly place they have over there (which I've never been to but my sis went & said it was really nice). Plus, you can always hop over to the Canadian side, which is WAY better....possibly even drive an hour to Toronto too.... whistling2

Hey!  Go to New Orleans!  WOOO!

Are you driving alone?  Cuz I wouldnt recommend
going to New Orleans by yourself cuz its so much
    more fun with other people.

If you can, drive down to the coast, and then follow it
westward.  So many amazing little towns, and of course
driving along side the water is ALWAYS a wonderful treat
    and very relaxing!

^ That's true. Don't go to Niagara Falls by yourself. You'll feel like a loser since everyone is there with their families/friends. And definitely don't go to an amusement park by yourself. I don't think I needed to tell you that though. Tongue

PLEEEEASE COME TO TORONTO I'LL HOST YOU A PARTY! (Not really.) DON'T YOU WANT TO SEE.....BAY STREET?!?!?

Kay, I can't think of many sightseeing things in Toronto, but I bet there are clubs and stuff, if you're into the nightlife.

Toronto at night is very nice. During the day time it's stinky, but at night it's cool.

NO is a good idea ass_bee. Though as a brown man that's a drive through some rednecky-ass areas to get there. Going North to Boston would be good too. Stop by NC and VA and get some kick-ass BBQ, stop in Richmond and see the highest concentration of fine young black women in America, then you can do stops in DC, B-More, Philly, New York, Providence, then Boston-- if you got the time, fuck it, go all the way to Montreal, which is a cool-ass city. Other suggestion would be a trip out to San Fran or LA, if the latter you can make NO a stop along the way.

    fuck you

I added the link to CSing because whether you're travelling alone or with a friend, it's always cool to hook up with people locally, who know all the cool stuff to see that is off the usual tourist map. Every place has cool stuff to do, it's all in how you look at it, and vacations are usually made by the people you meet and unique experiences you have, not by tourist attractions. It's also good to if you're looking for a party!

Just realised something else you can do at Toronto: visit The Royal Ontario Museum! Smiley

You could also go on the CN Tower (don't know how I managed to forget that). It's kind of stupid though. Just a big tower. Like, who cares?

    But come anyway!!!!! Tongue

Hey, thanks for the ideas (and hospitality  Shocked ) guys. I'm still in the brainstorming stages, so keep em coming guys.

Also zoomi, while the couchsurfing idea looks interesting, it also seems a bit scary. But it does remind me that I need to consider boarding methods on le cheap.

Like you're afraid you'll show up and some guy in a crotchless batman suit busts out of the closet with a Tec-9 in one hand and a roll of duct tape in the other?

Just bring a gun and a knife, and don't drink anything offered to you unless it's in a sealed bottle or can. You'll be fine.

You should roll through the south and southwest to Cali. It'd make for a really nice nature sightseeing trip and you get to stop in one if the most chill areas in the states. Look into hostels as an alternative to couchsurfing since they're cheap, clean and you don't have to worry about waking up to your things being stolen or your organs being harvested.

Florida is your best option. But since you have 10 days, you can come up North too. And since it is getting warmer, Niagara is a great choice. And if you want to stay over in Michigan and have few drinks, you are welcome here too.. (I hope you are of legal drinking age)
