    Cheetahs are too wiry and tough to be delish.  Not much meat on them anyway.  A nice fat pig on the other hand.....  piggy

    I know ex-Catholics, they're Muslim now Grin But I know Catholics who are atheists too, but those are my friends who probably just became atheist cuz it's the default nowadays..

    No no, I meant I think people naturally believe in something supernatural, but that's overcome by one's society's influence.

    So in my society loads of people are atheist. Especially teens. So that overcomes a person's natural inclination towards the supernatural (or superstition, whatever Tongue).

    I think it varies from person to person.  My default is definitely atheism and lack of belief in the supernatural, yours seems to be the opposite.

    No, I can still remember my childhood thoughts very clearly.  Belief was something that I went along with because it was the way I was educated, but alot of it never rang true, eg Hell.

    And you weren't educated as a newborn babe! Tongue I remember not caring about God as a kid (4-7 yrs). But not disbelieving, just not caring. I had better things to focus on (food, TV, the usual). XD

    I wasn't a believer as a new born babe either.   Cheesy  I think you're projecting.  Belief in something transcendent is obviously your default state, but that doesn't mean its everybody else's too.

    From a human standpoint, it may or may not be the default, but from a logical standpoint it is. Mind you, that doesn't necessarily mean it's right.

    Whatever a person might do "naturally" might not be the end all of what a person should do.

    There are a lot of things that influence a person from birth to the time they may actually are able to make their own choice about belief in a God, god, gods or no god, super natural being or what not. Humans have a great mental ablility and should use to examine the facts before making or deciding on any serious matters. Useful information can come from what might seem like the most unlikely source.

    Yeah true Lynna, but I still think that people have a yearning for beauty and transcendence that sheer rationality will never satisfy. I think it's expressed through music, art, religion, amazement at the universe, etc.

    I had to look up the word transcendence. I'm still not sure exactly what it means.

    I'll have to send a little more time on that idea.

    Yes people have a yearning for beauty that can be found in music and art.

    Some people do find that same kind of beauty in the rituals and buildings of their religion, that of course is their choice.

    I would choose what might be seen as a little bit more of a rational relationship with God.
