Women are twice as likely to have depression than men, but men who do have depression are three to four times as likely to commit suicide.

Stardust .... who will get those things if not human beings??  we all have those symptoms of depression, anger, empathy, sympathy, Love ..hate and what not., Question is how can we control them and where should we use them when needed..  And all of you know that..

Do not let silence become your legacy.. Question everything

Don't tell me you're one of those people who don't think depression is a real thing? and can be just 'fixed' simply like that?

    No. That's the roo. Tongue

Mind you, roos are pretty dumb too. Fortunately they are beginning to get their heads around the concepts of "car" and "road". I think that in another 100 years they should be using the pedestrian crossings.

Reality is that most Aussies go through a whole life time without ever coming in to contact with one of those really nasty things. Your chances of something happening as a tourist in your short stay here are pretty low, as long as you are sensible and heed local advice, especially in the north where crocodiles and jellyfish can ruin your holiday. Below is a selection of events in which people were not so lucky, but remember you still have more chance being injured in a car accident than by an Australian animal, around 1450 people a year die in traffic in Australia.
And forget about snakes and spiders being scary, the statistics below show that the most likely injury is to come from dogs and horses!

More people die of boomerang injuries after they forget to duck in Australia every year than die from yellow-bellied black venom toilet snake bite - and that's a fact.

    Everyone gets depressed sometimes.
However there are people who have clinical depression.
These two things are the same thing. They are very very different. It is a very big mistake to try to lump them together. No one wants to be depressed. If someone  has gone past a "normalish" depression something else is going on. Clinical depression?  Perhaps. It takes a trained professional  to determine because it is a very real serious matter. We wouldn't  tell someone with a broken leg to just get over it. Or have a beer. Why on earth would we do that with other medical conditions?

Isn't that like saying: "If you run over red squirrels, eventually you'll be left with brown squirrels"? I don't see the link to evolution. :/

But I think I get you. Selecting for superior traits?

Evolution is obvious once you really look at it, which is why I find creos to be amazingly stupid. I once told a YEC that his reasoning abilities were good evidence that he was descended from an ape. Smiley
