GRB, is Move 20 you trying to Castle by moving your rook and it not working?

Talk about it! Are you guys like 5 or something? It would definitely not count as a Loss for him, that is unfair towards him.

You suck as an organiser. If there's going to be a rematch, I don't want it to happen on the board here. I refuse to play any matches here. So, you can just kick me out. Smiley

To the queen's side, yes. It's a legal move, it doesn't matter if I've moved the rook on the other end. "

Yes, I know that. Smiley To castle you have to move your King first, maybe that's why it didn't work.

-_________- Yeah, I think I will if you don't frigging talk about it at the very least. What do you want me to do, hold your hands or something?

And are you saying you're fine with this being a Loss for you, and a Win for Asbie as long as future games have a different board?

    The entire game?

No, not the entire game. I mean has anyone tried to repeat this particular bug to see if it actually is a bug? All you need to do is set up a test game, clear some pieces out of the way as quickly as possible with no regard to strategy, then see if you can castle. If it's repeatable, you can assume the software is borked.

I know how to castle. Keep your hands away from me.  vomit

Yes, I am fine with the loss because I am going to pull out of the tournament. Unless, you give me a rematch on a different board.

Ok, so it doesn't look like a software bug then. What else have you missed?

Which was attempting to castle on the Queen's side, after being in check previously but while not being in check currently?

That is what people need to test to see if there really is a bug. It's pointless just testing general castling. Has anyone tested that situation to see if it is repeatable?

I took my time to check if I was doing it wrong, I wasn't. When it didn't let me do it, I figured I was doing it wrong, turns out I wasn't.

White was, I haven't bothered testing it out. Why go through the hassle? We can just change the board altogether.

Ok, so let me get this straight. You want to claim there is a software bug, but cbf'd doing the slightest bit of testing to see if there actually is a bug? Ok. You'll go far. Cheesy

I don't mind the testing, you can check the bug there while the tournament continues elsewhere.

K didn't work (castling) second time around.

    *sigh*

Okay, do you guys want to make this a draw, or erase it off your records completely (i.e. you guys only play 13 matches each) and then winner is by percentage?

As for another board, does everybody agree to use another board? If not, then we're gonna have to continue using this one. Chess.com, I think, will sign me on to my Facebook account and with all due respect, I'd rather keep that private. Tongue We could try that site Kodanshi linked.

Ok, if it didn't work the second time around then the software is borked. At a guess, I'd say that when he coded it the author somehow got the conditionals mixed up so that it sets legal/illegal based on whether the king has ever been in check, instead of whether it's currently in check.

Like I said before, I've never looked at the guts of this thing, and the author is long gone. If someone else wants to take a look at the coding and attempt to debug it that's fine, but I have too much other stuff to do at the moment.

    And no worries Os. Smiley

    Okay, question for everybody:

    1. Do you mind playing on the new site? redhotpawn.com
    2. If not, do you mind using a board that may be glitchy for like, castling once in a while?

If anybody says yes to #1 for whatever reason, then we're not switching, sorry. End of.

*sigh* I can't believe the first game went so wrong..I was hoping it'd be fine till at least round 3. Tongue
