No no, I'm waiting for book suggestions. Browsing through http://www.kitaabghar.com/ , realizing I don't know Urdu...

Those texts are in Urdu. I can't read Urdu I can understand it and speak it, but cannot read it. Same with Punjabi, and Punjabi is my mother-tongue.

Shit! now it has come down to hating languages! Cry
For people who don't know her Urdu is a lady in an Afghani burkha, but for people who know her she's a beauty beyond compare----BENAZIR !
She's  a heady mix of Arabic,Persian,English and various dialects of Hindi.

Hi there, bud. I was wondering where you disappeared to, am too much of a recluse right now to feel like having a meet up, maybe next time. Anyway it is nice to see you around.

It honestly means a lot for me that you said that  Smiley Smiley

It's a real shame that you can't make it. We were thinking of calling our gathering the Northern Legends Tour. But, since we're struggling to sign up even a single legend (with you, Saif and Prince all proving too elusive for us), we'll have to think up another name? Perhaps 'The Also-Rans Northern Leg'? Or 'Peru and her Five Yorkshire Andes'? Or 'The AboybrushedagainstmeandIlikedit Outing'? I dunno, I guess we'll keep trying until we come up with something apt and catching.

Un-recluse yourself soon mate: the world is missing out right now.

    Hi

No, I wasn't implying that, I talk to MAB his is a friend of mine. Alex post was quite reminiscent of MAB's style of posting.

My bad. I know that you and Alex are the dons at sniffing out trolls; you because you've had work-experience in that respect, and Alex because he has an unrivalled passion to keep this forum pure from them. I just thought that you'd smelt something on Alex for a second.

    WTF

You see what I mean people?

A lot of people may know to speak a language well but may not be able to write or read it,simply because they didn't learn it in school. You don't really need to write and read your mother tongue. What's so "WTF" about it? BTW there are many languages in the world that don't have a script !

This is a beautiful simple poem by a poetess called 'Aniya'
    Quote
    Kaash!
    Key Mein Aik Qalam Hoti
    Jab Tum Likhte Tanhai Mein
    Dil Ki Baat!
    Chupke Se Kaghaz Per Utarti
Aur Teray Haathon Ke Lams Se
    Samajh Pati Teray Jazbon Ko
    'Shaam Ke Surmai Andheron Mein
    Jab Tu Nikalta Almari Se
    Mera Dil Khushi Se Jhoomta
Phir Zara Deir Talak Teri Unglion Mein Qaid Rehti
Kaash Tu Mujhey Umer Qaid Dedey!
    Phir Teri Baatein Khatam Hoti
Tu Mujhey Chor ker chala jata
    Intizar Kerney Key Liye!
Per Woh Intizar Bhi Bemaza Na Hota
    Kuch Milney Ki Tarap Hoti
    Kuch Dil Beqarar Hota
Mujhey Aadat Hoti Teri Qurbat Ki
Tu Pyar Ki Baatein , Meray Liye Na Sahi
    Per Mujh Se To Likhta...AniYa
    Kaash Mein Aik Qalam Hoti

    Translation:

    Quote
    Wish!
    That I was a pen
When you start to write in solitude
    The tales of your heart
Quietly I would step/spread on the paper
And via the touch of your hand
    I could understand your emotions
Midst the darkness of the night
when you would take me (pen) out from the drawer
My heart will bloom in merriment
That for a few more moments I would be a prisoner of your hand
Oh! if you could make me a prisoner for life
    Then your writings will end
You will separate from me and leave..
me behind to wait for you again
Though that wait would not be without joy..
That trembling to meet you again
    That craving in my heart
I will be used to being near you
Your love sonnets, even if not for me
But atleast you would write them with me ...AniYa*
    Wish! I was a pen

    Hey Chepea, hope you’re good?

Yeah, forgive my spelling, I try to write it as it sounds, but rarely manage to hit the spot.

Jab am jawaan hooh gai, janaay kahaa hooh gai is supposed to mean (and hypozeveee nearly got this right): when we are both grow up, who knows where we will be? It’s taken from an 80’s Bollywood movie, and I seem to remember two starry-eyed kids singing this to each other, in order to remind themselves that even though their friendship currently is the most important thing in the world to them, seemingly set to last forever, God knows what the future holds for them?

Not much from my days of watching Bollywood movies has stayed with me, but that one has for some reason.

Btw: ‘hooh’ is supposed to represent the word for ‘going to’… I know how to say it - God knows how to transfer that to paper using English letters?

Was no treally interested in learning, parents sent me there to go study to be a Hafiz and they get a Jinn instead  grin12

Anyways always thought those 2 phrases meant, Firstly, Can I go to the bathroom, Sir? and secondly Can I go drink some water, only phrases I needed to learn to get out of class Smiley
Here in Cape Town, my name is Toyer, at school they use to say, bhai, it is Tahir bhai, not Toyer, no such name Bleh. I like my name.
