Nobody was attacking or ridiculing him KT, they were ridiculing Islam and if that makes a muslim switch off because they don't want to hear it then so be it I'm afraid.

Are you actively ignoring all the veiled attacks that were typed to him in this thread? O_o

There are no veiled attacks on him. People criticise his ideas and presumptions. He isn't a victim. He was deliberately obtuse after people responded in straightforward ways to his points about how he believes effectively that this forum, and all who post on it, should shut down and observe taboos and boundaries on discussing Islam in accordance with his views of what can and cannot be said.

I don't like Islam at all, I think it's a shitty religion. But many of you guys really seem to have a fixation with taking everything Muslims say in the least favorable way possible while reading everything you and other non-Muslims say in the most favorable way possible.

If I were in his shoes I would find your behavior offensive as well.

You've found it offensive in your own shoes.

The problem is he wasn't offended by what people said to him - he was offended by anything being said about Islam that fell outside the boundary of what he says is the permissible field of discussion.

That is the whole reason for him starting the thread. The only reason for this thread.

When someone is offended by the very existence of your discussion, thought and forum, short of us and the forum ceasing to exist, little can be done.

All of this was explained to him, before he flounced off.

Offense?  Who said he was a troll?  Who said he was a brainwashed or obtuse person?

We haven't had any reports off anybody for any such unacceptable posts.

I said after he said that Ayaan Hirsi Ali should be killed after she receives a 'fair trial' that he is either a very dense, uncritical Muslim or a troll, because most Muslims are self aware enough to not be so horrific whilst claiming the mantle of moderation. I also said that some of his responses were obtuse.

So suggesting that someone might be a troll (actually hoping for that, rather than that he truly believes in murdering those who leave and criticise Islam) after they say apostates deserve to be murdered, causes dismay, not the articulation of trust in the idea that ex Muslims can legitimately be executed for leaving and criticising Islam.

Incidentally, in saying that Ayaan Hirsi Ali should be executed after a 'fair trial' he is also saying that he believes the bulk of critics of Islam who are ex Muslims who interact here are also worthy of being judicially murdered too. But its OK because he's a moderate, or something.

Moderate in that he doesn't think ex Muslims who criticise Islam should be killed immediately.

They should only be killed after a full judicial process and a fair trial.

Yeah put he added a pretty legitimate clause to that, if I remember correctly he said if they were found committing treason. Now I personally don't believe in the death penalty even for the most ardent criminals. However, why are we taking a MASSIVE offense to such a comment, and yet not understand how our comments create a massive offense to him. The best possible thing to do here is to show how irrational the death penalty is, presumably he also thinks Muslims who commit treason should also be killed. But I don't think he wants to enforce Islamic laws on non-Muslims or apostates, he said he would defend non-Muslims and apostates if that was the case. Also lets be fair he didn't say a trial under Islamic law, since that would be illogical since non-Muslims and apostates don't recognize Islamic law. So lets not put words in his mouth or strawman his argument.

Strike, I am not gay by the way!

His probably a teenager. It's not a big deal, a frustrated teenager would make such a comment.

Also, when I was a Muslim I wanted Anti-Islamic websites shut down too, and for apostates to shut the fuck up, that was also because I was scared and threatened that I might lose faith in Islam, in fact I reported a few websites to their ISPs and I think I had one or two freely hosted websites shut down for terms and condition violations, I did that with blogs too, I had a few blogs on blogger closed down. But look I did eventually become an apostate.

Well, his first post in this thread did not say he was offended by anything said against Islam.
To me, it seemed like he was wondering why people in these forums bash Muslims.

Then non-Muslims started asking him questions about his faith in order to make him type out something intolerant so he would get defensive about his faith and they could start bashing him.

From what he replied to me, he said he does not believe that apostates should be killed. He actually claimed that people who kill apostates should be punished.

So there is the possibility that he would agree with putting her on death trial for reasons other than apostasy.

But you did not really let him explain and jumped to conclusions.

Yeah because pushing Muslims into extremist Whabbhism is going to help us alot more, then them being sugarcoating Muslims.

I don't understand, you want Muslims to become more extremist or less extremist? Man I might as well join salafitalk.com or ummah. Are you more worried about a Muslim blowing up in a tube or one that blows his load on your face?

Except, nobody was 'too plain'. His ideas, presumptions and assertions were refuted with clarity - ideas that were rooted in the notion that the mere existence of this forum, and the ideas discussed in it, are an affront.

I know her and in my opinion, she probably does deserve the death penalty or a punishment, after a fair trial.

What is a fair trial ? Is a fair trial a trial conducted by muslims following sharia ? Or is it a trial conducted by people that are not personally involved (i.e. non-muslims) based on the secular law of the country she lives in, or the country she gave that talk in ? Because the first case is what I call a biased court of a theocracy, and the second one would not even find offense to sentence her with.

What would you think of a “fair” trial for being muslim conducted by “fair” members of the Ku Klux Klan under the “fair” laws of the Klan for the offense of being muslim, with death penalty by being put to death on a cross alight with fire ? Is that also fair ?

ok guys, I just read some of the previous posts (thanks to some of the more open-minded members). We can continue this discussion if you PROMISE not to disrespect my religion again. That's all I asked for since I joined this forum. Unless the majority feel that it is pointless discussing this because I don't have a valid argument, in which case we can close this thread and move on (democracy is the key here).
