    I like this guy.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

Why do you consider any criticism of atheists, atheistic arguments, or atheistic beliefs as “trolling” but not consider condemning, ridiculing, or making fun of religion as “trolling”?
  • Re: Hi..what's your problem?

Gosh, do you realize how stupid you sound for saying that. If you cant get through your thick headed skull on why you think we are ridiculing Islam then tough tittys, you have no fucking right to come on your moral high horse here and tell us not to ridicule your religion. What gives you the priviledge to do so? Fuck your feelings and take a hike. Your condescending attitude is disgusting.

Come on...discussing astronomy/ creationism vs evolution is a whole different ball game. That is well beyond what we are discussing here.

See what i mean, its ironic how he comes here to have a "reasonable discussion" but he is shooting down the key topics that can be used to debunk Islam and make him understand why we ridicule Islam but he is too thick headed and blind to see that, rather he just wants to keep bitching "WHY CANT YOU RESPECT ISLAM blah blah".  GTFOH mate.

TBH, even the topic title is obnoxious.

Isn't it amazing how easy it is to ruffle an 'ex-muslim's' feathers? I thought you hated the 'aggressive nature' of Islam, yet you throw a hissy fit the moment you are faced with someone who doesn't concur to your views. Go figure.

Hah, Every self-respecting human being has the duty to be indignant when somebody comes in and tries to tell them what things they are and aren't allowed to ridicule. Because everybody has the right to ridicule anything they want.

No they don't. That's why we're human beings..we respect each other (unless you want to behave like an animal - go to the zoo if that's the case).

So let me get this straight, you didnt come here to have a"reasonable discussion" as you demanded but to come and ruffle the feathers of ex-muslims, that my friend, is what we call "Trolling" and lame trolling is lame. Better step yo game up mate cuz you are making a real fool out of yourself.

which brings me back to my original question which you did not answer (probably because you're not intelligent enough to):

Why do you consider any criticism of atheists, atheistic arguments, or atheistic beliefs as “trolling” but not consider condemning, ridiculing, or making fun of religion as “trolling”?
  • Re: Hi..what's your problem?

    No they don't.

You aren't a god who can sit around taking away or bestowing rights upon people.

Well would you ridicule the Queen of England to her face? I rest my case.
  • Re: Hi..what's your problem?

If she was someone's imaginary friend, then yes, I would.

So it seems you contradicted yourself from your original claim that 'everybody has a right to ridicule anything they want.'
Now you've added the caveat of 'anything' having to be 'imaginary.'
  • Re: Hi..what's your problem?

I have the right to ridicule a non-imaginary queen to her face, but it would impolite to do so. You can accuse those of ridiculing Islam of not being nice to you, but nobody has to be nice to you. Grow a thicker skin.

So why is it impolite to ridicule the Queen, but not impolite to ridicule a muslim?
  • Re: Hi..what's your problem?

It is impolite. But everybody has the right to be impolite if they so wish.

    What the hell, I'm bored.

    1. As humans, we have autonomy of belief and action.
    2. Your posts are actions.
3a. Your posts claim that respect is to be given to people's beliefs rather than people's actions.
3b. Your posts have claimed that failure to pay such respect should be actionable by law.
3c. Therefore, you do not believe that our autonomy of belief and action should be exercised if it causes offence.
    4. Your actions do not inspire respect (2, 3a, 3b).
    5. Your beliefs do not inspire respect (3a, 3b, 3c).
    6. You're not very good at this whole respect thing, are you? (4, 5).

How old are you? Just out of interest.

I don't need an exact number, an age range will do.

We must be respectfully critical of each other's beliefs.

no we shouldn't, that's like saying we should be respectful of racists

as Jefferson said "ridicule is the only weapon to be used against unintelligent proposition"

I don't understand why ex-muslims feel that it is their duty to attack/ ridicule islam and muslims. If you don't want to be a muslim, fine, it's your loss (in my opinion), but just quietly move on.

Very few of those who are critical of islam, are anti-muslim. I have nothing against muslims, my dad is muslim and I love him to bits. Muslims themselves are the victims of islamical indoctrination. Me myself i'm anti bullshit(even non-religious bullshit) it just so happens that theism is the most prominent form of bullshit in the world atm.

    1. stoning - this is NOT in the Holy Qu'ran

Orthodox Islam includes hadith. Are you a quranist?

    2. Cutting off hands - I disagree with this in practice but this is only a deterrent punishment,

IT the prescribed punishment according to the quran. You can't use the cop out of "it's in the hadith" on this one. So you disagree with 1 off allahs commands?

    1. I was talking about faiths, not attitudes that are harmful and plain wrong

    2. To use the word 'BS' is very disrespectful when you are using them about relgious beliefs that are so dear to some people's hearts

    3.
    a. No I'm not a Qu'ranist, but a lot of muslim scholars disagree with stoning..i already explained that, please read the posts fully to avoid repetition

    b. Yes it is ok to disagree with some things in Islam, and still be muslim. I don't think people should get their hands cut off for stealing, but that is the maximum sentence and is only for certain situations, after a fair trial. See the hadith for further details.

I'm starting to suspect that many of you here weren't proper muslims to begin with. It seems you were never true believers, and are now rebelling against your parents/husbands because you now feel that you have the freedom to do so. I think some of you may need to see a psychiatrist, as you seem emotionally unstable, to say the least.

Cheesy Tell that to the sheikhs/mullahs/scholars or what have you  and see what they have to tell you. It's all or nothing mate! No wonder Muslims suffer from acute cognitive dissonance as they try to make sense of living in the 21st century.
