  • Where are the Muslims who are embarrassed by all this 'science' nonsense?
     OP - August 20, 2012, 12:01 PM

When you were a muslim, did you believe all the 'science in the quran' chat?

If you were unimpressed/ uninterested, were you embarrassed by it?

Did you know/care how ridiculous it was?

If I were a Muslim, I would be doing all I could to distance the scientific miracle seekers from the 'true Islam'. Surely they are an embarrassment to the religion?

I think most probably just don't understand science enough to actually go against and be embarrassed by these 'scientific miracles' that they're told about. Spoon fed. They accept what they're told by authority figures in Islam.

I used to be impressed by the 'scientific miracles' because I knew nothing about science. What impressed me was that the Qur'an was made out to be very predictive and hence seemed to contain divine knowledge. Now I look at these verses that are claimed to be scientific and think what a load of complete bullshit. Funny how perceptions can change so drastically.

I used to believe in them, I didn't know much about those stuff back then though, when I got to research the miracles I realized they are simply nothing more than desperate attempts to make science fit to the Quran.

Did u check the latest one Huh??

I used to believe that the qur’an contained scientific ‘discoveries’, but I always tried to distance myself from people who would twist the meaning of verses to suit current scientific thinking. It never made sense to me. As a holy book, it should have been accepted or rejected for what it was — not ‘proved’ by the understanding made by scientists.
