Been toying with this idea for the last few years. I considered going the bio route, but have decided against it, after doing a lot of research into what that entails on your body and your life. It's really just not for me. The pain, discomfort, high odds of miscarriage... no, not something I want to put myself through. I am planning to adopt in a few years, something I have always wanted to do anyway. It's better for everyone involved, IMO. Adoption means you're no longer slave to your biology, which is really good, especially for women as the years are often stacked against us. Anyway, have a lot of living to do before I sign up for that. We'll see what happens. Won't be the end of the world for me if I never have or adopt a kid. I never felt that it was something I absolutely *HAVE* to do...

OMG Simran is one of my favourite names! Did you and your wife name her after watching that movie with Kajol?

Oh no I named her Simran when I was religious and wanted to make a point with her name. It means "remembrance of god" and I wanted to show that a name can be from any culture and still be a "Muslim name" because if its good meaning and not have to be Arabic or Persian or Pakistani sounding to be considered a Muslim name. I named her that because I didn't want my culture crushed by religion. I even gave Imaan the middle name "Kumari" which means princess. A lot of us Rajputs have the middle name "Kumar" (Prince) or "Kumari". I've also always liked that name and we didnt have any Simrans yet on my side of the family.

No kids for me for sure. Over a lifetime kids cost around $1.2 million per kid, according to a recent study.

Might've adopted but now not in favor of that either.

No kids for me. I decided that when I was a kid myself Grin
In the unlikely event that I do feel the urge to have a child or two, I would adopt.

I used to want kids, but now I'm very undecided. I don't think I'd be a good parent at all though, I'm not very nurturing and I can't stand screaming and crying kids. :/

Same here solara..used to love kids but after helping raise my nieces and nephews I realized I don't have the patience for it anymore.

    I might adopt thought, maybe.

You can adopt an older kid. I'll help, but they might turn out crazy Tongue

    I'm in 2 minds.

I feel the biological urge to have kids, but I'm too self absorbed to be responsible for another child.

Plus I didn't enjoy the first 25 years of my life much because I had so many psychological issues and I'd like to enjoy it as much as I can - spontaneous travel, and spontaneous whims in general are out of the picture IMO to be a good parent.

Not wanting kids will make finding a partner hard though, but I wouldn't have kids for my partner's sake.
