Yeah, I'm struggling to care about the criticisms. I pay my money to be entertained, not lectured or moralised at. What did they honestly expect from a Tarantino movie? They are living in a fucking dreamworld if they expected a maudlin and sensitive meditation on slavery. Gimmie a shit-wrecking ex-slave bounty hunter carving a path of bloody vengeance.
    Oh my, Leonardo DiCaprio.

Y'know, I was sold already with just Waltz and Foxx, within minutes. I'd have been happy if the rest of the movie was just the relationship between their two characters and the interplay between two fantastic actors. I was so wrapped up in it that I'd forgotten DiCaprio was supposed to be in it. He stole the show. He's catapulted himself from one of my most loved living actors into my out and out fave living actor. Absolutely mesmerising performance.

Acting was great, movie still sucks, great story - bullshit to cover up lust for gore. And if that's the only thing that entertains you, what does it tell you about the trousered apes? What effect will it have on youths? Well, at least no x-ians were thrown to lions, like 4real.

It isn't the only thing that entertains me. It isn't even the only thing about that one movie that entertained me.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

I agree, the new spider man sucked. Am I still the only person on this forum to have seen django? That movie was freakin awesome people, possibly the best film out right now.

I finally got to see it.

It made me cry. I cried a couple of times.

It made a whole fucking ocean swell up inside me of different feelings. Its just....fuck man. Don't even have words.

I know what you mean. I had to watch it twice because the first time really caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting it.

Saw django and liked it, thought Lincoln was a better movie though.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

I saw this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ScJyV9sKFs a while back but it is an immense thought provoker and well worth a rental...Doubt with Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Meryl Streep.  Do not see PSH's new one though, "the Master"...it's absolute shite.

Watched cloud atlas the other week. Expected a patchwork movie that was too ambitious to ever work, and it did have its flaws, but I was absolutely mesmerised by the end. Big emotional pay-off, like having multiple orgasms XD, and brilliant soundtrack too. My favourite movie of 2012. Watch it even if only because there won't be another one like it.

The Great Dictator featuring Charlie Chaplin is a great movie. Heart-wrenching narrative with a brilliant ending monologue. Would definitely recommend to all.  Afro

Django Unchained was AWESOME. I loved it. Very hard to watch at times, but definitely worth it. Tarantino keeps on producing gut wrenching, action packed films that you connect with with your whole being. Guy's a sheer genius no doubt in my mind.

YES!! yes I love Hanna so much, I watch it again every couple of months just because I miss watching it again. And the soundtrack from it, by Chemical Brothers, is INSANE... I have it set as my daily alarm (the song "The Devil is in the Beats") - I listen to that and to "Hanna's theme" pretty much every day. 001_wub

I saw NO! with Gael Garcia Bernal the other night & really enjoyed it. It's about the marketing behind the Pinochet downfall & is more interesting than it sounds.

Gael Garcia Bernal is very easy on the eyes as well, even if you're not interested in Chilean history Wink

Saw Django on the plane yesterday (along with Skyfall and Snatch).

Fantastic. Brought out the best in Tarantino, the subject so vast and so gothic that even he couldn't smother it with in-jokes. Lots of serious stuff said with zero hand-wringing. Refreshing isn't the word.

The Untouchables. It's on the prohibition-era of Chicago, when Al Capone mauled the city. Meanwhile he gets into what seems like a gang war with enemy and antagonist detective Eliot Ness. It's Robert de Niro at his bright best.
