    These articles pop up from time to time, as to television interviews with recent converts. Whilst some of the testimonies are cringeworthy ("At first I was worried it would be too extreme but when I studied the Koran it blew my mind. The theories about nature and science appealed and I felt enlightened"), I wish them all the best and hope whatever choices they make bring them much happiness.

    Would anyone be interested in taking part in a similar article as someone who's left Islam?

    I wonder how dismal her knowledge on science and nature was previously if something like the Quran is a step up.

    ^That's very true. They really should; especially considering how much publicity is given to converts to Islam.

    I doubt that she really read the Qur’an straight through. She probably was more so influenced by those “scientific miracles in the Qur’an” pamphlets that get circulated. If you just pick up the Qur’an and start reading, you are more likely to just get confused than notice any profound “scientific theories.”

    The first thing I noticed was the girl praying with an image embroided in her jeans and I thought. wait a second I thought your prayers were nullified with such things. I say let them do whatever if they are practicing the sugar-coated version of Islam. And I mean realistically people convert in different religions ALL the time. I hate how Islam makes it so it's some grand sign that people are converting to Islam. I read these same things about how Muslims convert to Christianity and those annoy me too.

     When people exit Islam after converting no one talks about that, they are just told they were NEVER Muslim to begin with. I mean I don't like Islam but that's just sad, to do that to someone after they had put so much trust into what you were telling them.  

    Also interesting I read on a pro-Islamic site talking about this. They were complaining about people converting (Especially Europeans)having a hard-time letting go of their previous heritage, aka completely throwing away their previous identity and being completely Arabic, in language, dress, music, friends, and even not wanting to let go of festivities they would enjoy before they converted. Also there is inner racism apparently towards non-Arabic converts, they only worship you when you join, but there is hardly support to help them stay in the religion and feel welcomed. They only shove white converts in front of journalist. What do you think?

    ^I would if I was older and more interesting…but I'm devastatingly boring. Pepe, OTOH: the Most Interesting Man in the World, and I reckon happy murtad would be great for it too.

    Each and every Exmuslim's story is precious. Each Exmuslim's story is valuable. Please don't discount yourself. It is no small feat to be able to transcend the kind of brainwashing each and every Exmuslim was raised or evangelised to believe.

    Probably. Science in the Quran would be a miracle since there is no science in there.

    And that other chick talking about how Islam is all about "being generous with your time, and patient and respectful of others." Bitch, please. She's got to pass over a whole lot of repulsive, violent, hateful shit in the Quran to find something resembling "be patient and respectful."

    These sugar-coated islamic apologist converts don't know what it's like to grow up in a strict muslim family. 

    It means no high school proms, no going to parties, no dating anyone, and not even being allowed to be friends with any non muslims or people of the opposite gender, always having to be nagged/yelled at to pray and read the Quran, being scolded for reading books on science and history instead of Islamic books..... I could go on for pages.


    They talk about spiritual enlightenment as if that is what Islam's primary purpose is. No, Islam is a complete way of life designed to control people and it's increase/spread is NOT caused by dawah it spreads primarily by the heavy indoctrination of innocent children in madrassas who then grow up and have their own children and continue the tradition of mindless brainwashing.

    And even if these converts start having doubts about Islam or decide to practice a liberal version of it they don't have to put up with the intense family pressure to conform that we have to deal with on a daily basis.

    Let them try to walk a mile in our shoes before they start talking about how "great" Islam is.

    If people want to know what Islam is like "from the inside" it's ex muslims that have the real answer. You don't ask a tourist who went to North Korea about the living conditions there because they have only been shown the good and fluffy part of it (Most of which is only for display to outsiders).  You ask a North Korean defector who has lived through it.  

    Islam is like North Korea and we ex muslims are it's defectors. If BBC wants to get the real picture of mainstream Islam out there they know who to go to.

    Hassan. I'm pretty damn sure that ex muslims are in the millions .It's only a matter of us coming together, gathering courage and uniting against the islamic theocrats. 

    Once the number of ex muslims reaches a critical mass it won't take long for every ex muslim to start coming out of the closet.

    It's only a matter of getting the initial bunch of people to gather enough courage to stand up to their families and community.   

     after the critical mass is reached then we just gotta watch and enjoy.

     There will be so many people coming out as ex muslims left, right and centre that the the so called "ummah" will look around and not even know what hit them.

    I think that before that would happen, Islam will just dissolve into a more tolerant religion, then people will eventually exit. Because it's so risky and dangerous to leave cold turkey, most ex-muslims just put up with the shenanigans to keep the family happy, but will inevitably preach a different kind of Islam to their kids, be supportive if they leave. 
    The Ex-Muslim voice will be more vocal in Western societies though and will eventually leak to other places.

    I was thinking of taking this strategy but two things would get in the way of this

     -1) Muslim parents live with their children even after they get married so most grandparents will flipshit at the thought of their grandchildren learning a version of Islam any other than the hardcore one they believe in

     2) Me and lots of other people just think that " If I stay in the closet for my whole life will I regret this at my deathbed?"

        Most ex muslims in the West will take advantage of their freedoms and come out since it requires ALOT MORE energy to stay in the closet and just think about the life you could have had if you came out.

    In my opinion a life without curiosity is not a life worth living
